Newbie here - have been going thru a lot of the threads. Great stuff.

Not a regular smoker but after a few drinks I cannot distinguish between cigarettes and a joint. I have a test coming up this week and I think I have been clean since memorial day weekend. Not sure about July 4th weekend if I took any hits but don't think so. I have dark hair and dark skin so it looks a little dicey to me right now. Have done macujo a couple of times and plan to do it another 2-3 times.

1) Could only get Aloe rid gentle shampoo and not the treatment. Is that much different from a regular (non-gentle) shampoo or the treatment? Could not find PM3 anywhere.

2) From the responses on the 30-50 pages, it looks like occasional smokers who do macujo almost always pass the test. Is there anybody out there who failed after only a few smokes and macujo?

3) When they say only 1.5 inches will be analysed how do they know which 1.5 inches to analyse? I mean if you cut a long hair, unless you mark it right away (human error is possible here) there is no way to know which end is which. But if they can determine the age of the hair at different places then it would be possible to use the most recent 1.5 inches. Is that techonology available?

Not knowing for sure how much you have smoked in the last 3+ months makes it hard to make a guess on your results.

The 1 1/2" of hair is taken from the longer sample by how it is wrapped in the package the collector puts it in. The direction of the hair in the collection foil or envelope determines which end is the root end.

The aloe rid you want is the Treatment, but you can't find it. Some have found it and ordered it from the internet.

Make sure you do the Mac method the morning of the test and the night before is a good idea too.

Thanks for the quick reply 1toke. I probably smoked about 3-4 times in May each time 3-5 puffs from a joint. I am almost certain I did not smoke (was not stoned) on July 4th but its hard to be sure since I was around people who were smoking and passing the joint around freely.

I really, really did my home work when I had a hair test coming. I just don't remember where I found a lot of the information. The deal about the rep. I tried to give deddy some the other day and I got the same message. I haven't given him rep in quite awhile. Oh well thanks for the thought.

You will need some treatment for sure. There is a SLIGHT possibility of passing without any, but why chance it. FYI second hand smoke doesn't matter as long as you aren't the one making it. Make sure you let us know your results. Good luck.

Latest update: I have done the macujo 5 times now (4 times with tide and once with listerine instead of tide, figured if it can clean your teeth it can do the hair as well ) and permed lightly (not the full duration about 8 minutes instead of 15). Planning to do the hair color remover tonight and then dye the hair tomorrow and macujo once more before I go for the test.

My hair is about 1 inch to 2 inches at various locations. Am wondering if I should risk getting a hair cut tomorrow. What if its cut too short? But then again what if they take the hair thats been 'contaminated' from more than three months ago. Not sure what to do.

Listerine???? That is a new one. (I think) I suggest that you don't cut your hair. You have been treating your head and that is where you want the to take the sample from.

Thanks 1toke - After considerable thought (well more like hemming and hawing ) I have decided not to cut my hair and take a chance with the longer hair.

I did do the hair color remover (Loreal) - oh boy, it made my hair look crappy. A yucky brown and I have natural thick hair which i occationally color black due to premature greying. Did the just for men this morning and the hair looks just fine.

I think you made a good decision. I have seen people treat their head hair and then cut it short and end up failing because the sample was chest hair etc. that wasn't treated.
