I've read just about everyone's posts...but it seems even with the Macjo method African American's are still failing. WHY?

I'd like to know the results of what appears to be the hardest test for AAs to pass. To all the AAs please share your experiences. It would be very helpful if you included your:

Nationality
Hair Color
Hair Length
Smoking frequency
Last smoke session

Are there any other options that can be used in addition to the Macjo treatment?

It has been explained to you why so many(not all) AA's fail.

Did you read bubbakushky's post ? He passed and is an African American.

1tokeoverthelin, can you link to the explanation please? I wasn't aware of it being more difficult for me to pass, although I wouldn't dismiss that as being a possiblity. Does the 3 month no smoking rule still apply to hair tests for most of us?

I see your post are in the urine testing forum for drug test questions. If you are asking if it is more difficult to pass a urine test the answer is no. If you are asking if it is more difficult for AA's to pass a hair test the answer is yes.(According to the Mac thread and the results thread)

To be 99.99999% sure to pass a hair drug test the 90+ days clean applies to everyone. They test approx. 1 1/2" of hair from the root end. Hair grows on the average approx. 1/2" every 30 days. 3 x 1/2 = 1 1/2 and 3 x 30 = 90. So approx. 1 1/2" of hair equals approx. 90 days smoking history.

I hope I explained this good enough. If not ask again and I will try again.

You said to legalizeweed that it's been explained to him, I'm asking for a link to where in the forum it was explained if it's no trouble to you.. if it is, don't worry about it, it's not of great importance to me.

Actually, if you check out where you quoted me, I wasn't asking anything - it was just a statement of acknowledgement. Where I said I wasn't aware, I used the past tense to show that I am now aware. I noticed you mentioned the MAC thread, is that were it was explained/detailed? I'll do a search.

You explained it above and beyond, thank you.

I'm not dead. Sometimes people (not only celebrities) have to disappear for reasons I can't get into. I'm actually here with Bob Marley and a few other "dead" people.. tupac isn't one of them, he really is dead.

And about drug tests, I'm not worried about them, I just like to be informed.



p.s. You're right, I wouldn't pass.

Sorry, I took it that you would be taking a hair test. I think there were some post either in the Mac thread or the Results thread that mentioned AA's having problems passing.

I feel like a freak, this hair test has consumed my life all I do is study. I just want to thank all of you. You have been so helpful and I appreciate you sharing your experiences, insight, and intellect. Not sure what I'd do w/o mj.com. With that I've come up with a plan

History: AA w/ long dark hair and a consistent smoker for 3 yrs (couple hits a night, that may have equaled half a blunt, then on the wknds i smoked 1 to 2 blunts between friday and saturday). I Definitely have melanin, not sure about the medulla in my hair.... let me know your thoughts on my passing.

Step:
1- Stopped smoking as of 7/10
2- Alternate treatment methods (1 day - macjo, next day - PM3 w/ aloe rid)
3- Use hair relaxer 3-4 times between now and test date
4- Use the PDT 90 test kit from Psychemedics (for pretest on 9/10)
Think I’ll PASS?

5- If fail repeat steps 2 and 3
6- Wait another 30 - 45 days to take real test (this time use Zydot on test day)
Think I’ll PASS?

90 to 105 days total, hope that's enough time. I've read horror threads of people failing even when abstaining for 6 and 7 months. Not sure how that's possible but it's humbling to know.

I promise to share my experience when the nightmare is over ...and quit smoking

2 months of the MacCujo method is a long time. It sounds like a good plan and the home test kit will give you a heads up. Keep track of how brittle your hair is getting and slack off the Mac method if it gets to brittle. If you don't pass the home test it's not for the lack of trying.

You should definitely pass this one.
Just a warning to you. It appears you are going to do the Mac method for 2 months every other day. Pay very close attention to the condition of your hair. With the Mac method that long plus a hair relaxer 3-4 times, that is a lot of stuff you will be dumping on your hair. Keep us posted on your progress.

Well, thanks to all of you educated tokers and non-tokers I passed the Psychemedics PDT 90 test and I'm only 80 days clean. I followed my plan for the most part, except I washed every week alternating treatments Mon, Thurs, and Sat starting on 7/31. Here are the details:

Macjo – Mondays & Thursdays
Apple Cider vinegar (soak 45 mins – 1 hour)
Clean & Clear …Pink stuff (soak 45 mins – 1 hour)
PM3 w/ Aloe rid Treatment (soak 20 mins)

PM3 w/ Aloe rid – Saturdays
PM3 w/ Aloe rid Treatment (soak 20 mins)
Flat iron at 400 degrees afterwards

One wash with Omni Clean on 9/9 (soak 1hour)

I also Relaxed my hair twice in between (4 weeks apart – 8/10 & 9/11).
Then Prayed to the God that it all worked.
AAs Pls keep in mind… you cannot wash your hair for at least 3 days before relaxing, it will burn.

I took the PDT 90 test Wed 9/20 and got negative results for marijuana detection on 9/23. wooohoo, but not ready to celebrate yet...

My only question is the Psychemedics PDT 90 test an exact representation of testing done for companies? My test may not be for another 2 weeks or so, but boy am I humbled by this experience. I respect the plant & the test and take nothing for granted.

I will update you guys in a few weeks...once I get the real results. Thanks again and stay tuned!
