Well, I'm a long time smoker. I have kids and a family and I'm a professional. I don't screw up at my job, I'm always on time, I'm pretty level headed. Well recently I quit my job in hopes to cut down my commute before the winter. I'm starting to look into jobs around the area and I'm getting ready for testing. My husband and I blew through an ounce every couple of weeks. Before I quit, I cut way back to just the weekends. It's been about 10 days now since I smoked and for the month or two before that I was smoking only on the weekends...and then there was a minor mistake made 30 days ago when I did another substance but not in any great quantity, before that it had been several years...anyway, I'm getting ready to be offered an extremely good job, but have found out I'm due for a hair test. I have a dark complexion and past the shoulder length thick dark brown hair. Hence the problem I'm about to face. I don't intend at this point to cut my hair back because I don't think it will do me any good. So here's what I've done so far.

1. macujo method but only once so far...not sure if this will help me with my other problem so might just bite the bullet and hope for the shampoo crap to work.
2. using aloe rid 2 X a day
2. detox pills - constant clense in case I get a urine test also
3. CHI - for those men of you on here that don't know this is the hottest possible straitening iron you can buy. I used it before I even quit smoking at least every other day...now I'm doing it every day. This sucker is hot and if you have wet hair, it will smoke.
4. Hubby bought me All Clear shampoo which contains a shampoo and a gel. - Really hesitant on this but due to my minor 30 day ago mistake, kind of forced into trying it.

Anyway, worst case senario, I don't get the job because of failing the test, find another job that gives a piss test. Best case senario, I pass....

questions:

1. For women with extremely long hair, where will they cut it? Do they get as close to the root as possible? Do they test farther down the hair shaft? This will help me decide if I want to cut it down or not (not that it will help me as I've been smoking the last 10 years of my life)

2. Heat, will the heat of my extremely hot flat iron, help my cause or could it hurt me...lets say on the day of the test, I use the All Clear Shampoo...I've read some things about heat helping but I'm not sure if the heat will make my hair more sensitive or what not for detection purposes.

3. Through the interview process I've been told this hair test is happening, but they haven't told me when...are the fuckers going to hire me and let me fail the test so they can make an example out of me or will they tell you to take the test in advance with notice to pass before starting the job? seems like everyone on here has had a scheduled time...did you go through a 2nd interview and they give you some paperwork? How much notice do you get for this? I'm getting ready to schedule the 2nd interview and with thanksgiving coming up, I'm trying to put it off as long as I can so I have longer to treat myself and get clear. thinking I need to use the shampoo the day of the interview and buy more if they schedule it later...

Being that I'm dark complected with thick dark hair, if this macujo/shampoo/detox voodoo crap works, I am a good test subject and I'll make sure to let everyone on here know what happens. You made the choice of doing it knowing you had a test comming up and now your scard you might fail the test,solution,you shouldn't have done the drugs knowing you were going to be tested,sorry to sound so mean,but if you are going to play then be ready to pay.And I do hope you pass the test,if your hair is that long it must be pretty,I wouldn't cut it if I were you,a womans beauty stems from her hair.Take the test and deal with it,stop stressing over it there's nothing you can do about it now anyway.

cutting your hair isnt going to help at all, dont bother. there are trace amounts of the drug stored inside the hair folicles at the root, and i think the best method is to a) use the shampooa couple times in the weeks coming up to the test, and then the day of the test b) on the day of the test after the all clear, soak your hair in vinegar to the base for 15 minutes (especially around the base of your hair roots), rub clean & clear pore cleanser and deep cleansing pore scrubs into your scalp. Then wash your hair with Tide detergent (doesn't matter powder or liquid) thoroughly and then wash your hair with shampoo and coonditioner. If here is color in you hair or anything that, take it out now so they dont notice the difference. If you can, delay the test as much as you can. Tell them your out of town for a while around the time of the test, maybe see if you can try and have them hold the job for you and pretend to be looking into moving/trying a different feild and then change you mind. The drugs can be detected in you hair for about three and a half months. The urine, just drink a LOT of water, and like i said, delay tactics and then if you can, a masking agent. Good luck.

Answers :

1) They will cut the hair as close to the scalp as they can get. The test calls for only the first 1 1/2 " of hair and you will notice on the piece of foil they collect all the hair in that it shows an arrow for them to place the hair in there in a certain direction so they know which side of the hair was closer to the scalp. The reason for using only the first 1 1/2 " is because after that first 1 1/2 " the test is not as accurate... so generally they will 'crop' your hair after cutting it from your scalp... or they are supposed to anyway.

2) I'm a believer that heat helps. Science tells us that heat expands things, so I would think that adding heat will help expand/open the hair follicle which helps with washing out toxins. When I was using the vinegar, salicylic acid, Tide treatment, I would put a wet towel in the microwave and heat the heck out of it (takes about 45-50 seconds in the 'nuker'), then I put the hot towel over the shower cap I had on,then, while it cooled, I would gently scrub my head with it... and just keep scrubbing away.

3) That sucks they didn't tell you. Since it's easy and little privacy is needed to take a hair sample (they can do it in a cubicle if they like), they could test you at the 2nd interview... not to mention it only takes a couple of minutes. However, that's if they are CERTAIN they are going to hire you I would think... I mean, why throw away $60 on a test if you aren't sure you want to hire someone? Soooo, time is your best friend... I would say you're going out of town for the Thanksgiving weekend, seeing a sick relative, friend of the family died, ect... tell them something/anything to buy some more time. In the meantime, keep using that aloe rid treatment and scrub it in really good for several minutes each and every time.

I would also recommend using a relaxer in your hair to break down the medulla. Since your hair is really thick, it will be a necessary step to penetrate the follicle in the first place so the other stuff works.

Appreciate any help I can get...like I said, the worst case is I don't get this job but it would be really nice if I could since it's a lot more money to me... Otherwise, lots of other jobs for my line of work and many of them only require a piss test (easier to beat) But we'll see, if macujo works, my head is the best test senario there is...my husband said if I cut my hair he's leaving! LOL I'm sure he won't but my hair is one of his favorite things about me and I can't cut it off...so I'll be investing in vinegar and tide for a while...they want me in there the first of December after this next series of interviews and I'm pretty well qualified for this job...they've been calling me everyday and I keep making excuses why I can't come in there...so I think I can buy this week but next week is the latest I can hold them off. I think before the 2nd interview, I'll go ahead and do the cover shampoo. they wash it anyway so they shouldn't be able to tell I used it and probably don't care if I do it anyway... I'll beat these bastards somehow....

Reading online does nothing for the nerves. well the company called back to my dismay, they want me in there TOMORROW! I've only had 11 days clean now...WTF! I didn't think I'd get a job going this soon after leaving the company. I've only done the macujo once so far and aloe rid every day but reading up on that, it's not very effective. So what the hell now, I have no chance of ever getting a job with them again and I tried to put them off but if I don't take the interview tomorrow, somebody else will get this job. Maybe I'll get lucky and they won't do the test tomorrow. They still haven't said when but they said it will happen...(got that information from the recruiter who said the last person couldn't pass the hair test)....and this is the only reason I know they do it there. I'm scared, they will offer me the job, tell me to start and then give me the test...If they could just give me the test first, let me fail and then say piss off that would be great. I actually have a lot riding on this now....FUCK why am I such an idiot? I did this to myself and I told my husband if this works out or even if it doesn't, I'm officially done somking...I've never been faced with this type of testing before....now I'm really freaking out...

Just do the MacCujo method the night before and the morning of the test. If you're thinking of just taking a lower paying job instead of the hair test, what have you got to lose. Take the test if you fail, get another job. Maybe, just maybe you will pass. You won't know unless you take the test.

I told the company I have non refundable tickets for out of town and then started asking about their holiday plans...I can really turn it on when I need to...anyway, they were glad to reschedule for next week...how the hell did I pull that one off! So anyway, went out and bought hair stripper and hair color because I cannot bleach my hair, hair stripper should do just enough damage hopefully. Plan on macujo a few more times and day of and day before, doing the hair stripper/color. Besides that I'm getting a butt load of interview calls so you guys are right, nothing to loose by not passing this test but it would be awsome. It's for a MAJOR beer distributor and if I get this job, I'm pretty well set for life...In the midwest, this is the place you want to work...anyway, if it doesn't work out, it doesn't work out but right now the money is eating at me.
