Does anyone know if the saliva tests used for porbation are the same as the ones mentioned here? All I know about them is that the get the results right then and there and I have been tested once but I started smoking again and I am a little nervous. The next time I go to report it will be about 16 days since I last smoked and I wouldn't say that I smoked all the time but I smoked about once a day for about five days give or take. Can anyone help?

It is the same, but be cautioned, they might try and trick you by saying that you smoked.

Saliva tests are the same as urine tests in that there can be both instant and laboratory types of tests.

Just be aware that a smart probation officer will alternate which types of test he/she may give you (e.g.: Saliva one month, urine test the next), since the instant tests cost about the same for each type.

The instant saliva test for probation is the same as any other instant saliva test used for pre-employment or random tests.

Just don't smoke pot while on probation and you will be ok. The normal detection limit for a saliva test is anywhere from 14 - 72 hours. 16 days falls well outside that range.
