Hello all..
So here is my story and it is not too different but I was hoping for some answers more specific to my story..

I was not looking for a new job, but was offered an incredible position out of the blue. I then found out I had two days to prep for a hair test. I did the Macujo method two days before and then I freaked out and bleached my hair (then re-dyed it) the night before. My results came back that there was a "fatal flaw" in my test and I had to re-take it. Unfortunately by the time I found out, I had already shaved my head as my hair was turning bright orange and I think it was about to fall out :-). I then had another two days to prep. I used the Mac method on my underarms and had them take the hair from there. Obviously I failed the test.

The manager really wants to bring me on his team and has convinced the staffing agency to let me re-test in about a month or so. It has now been a week since I smoked. (I should mention that I am daily smoker, about 2-3 bowls a day and really, really good stuff- It is actually called Train wreck.) Anyways her eis my new plan-- I go clean for three weeks, work out everyday, take Niacin everyday and cut down the fatty foods. After three weeks, I will shave my head and take the test in another three weeks ( my hair grows really fast and I do not care if they leave a bald spot as I will just shave it again.

Does anyone think my new plan will work? I am sure I am repaeting someone else's questions but neded to know...

Forgot to add that I also used Zydot on my underarms.. ( It did absolutely nothing for me) Does the fact that I have pretty thick hair make any difference???

I honestly think that the fact that some people can fool the hair test and pass with a short clean time and some can't. If you plan to continue you look for another job I suggest you get clean and stay that way until you get the job you want. The methods don't seem to work for you. Sorry, but that is my opinion.

Thanks 1toke. I am not sure what you mean by "You already tried the head shaving deal once and it didn't work" as they did not take any hair form my head after I shaved it... I was thinking that if all the hair on my head grew out after I had "clean blood" I would be OK, but it does not sound like you think I will....

If you can grow out an acceptable amount of clean hair of course you will pass. You said in the other post they accepted 1/4" of hair at the collection site you went to. If they do you should pass with approx. 22 days clean. Which is approx. 7 days for the hair to grow above the scalp and 15 days to grow 1/4" of hair of a total of 22 days.

To me that doesn't make sense but maybe someone can explain it to me. If they accept 1/4" of hair they are getting approx. 15 days smoking history. They get approx. 30 days smoking history for a piss test. It seems to me that the purpose of the hair test (longer detection time) isn't serving the purpose if the shorter sample is accepted, but that is a good thing if you can get away with it. From the employer point of view they would be better off giving a piss test that would give a longer detection time and is cheaper to administer.
Hope I didn't get to confusing trying to explain my reasoning. I especially hope I am not giving new member or non members reading this the impression that they can just quit for 15-20 day, cut their hair to 1/4" and pass a hair test because I find that hard to believe. No......in fact I don't believe that.

I was very surprised when I saw the collection samples as well. The collector seemed very non-chalant about it all and was just intersted in the right amount of hair as opposed to how long the samples were. Just as some info it was a Psychemedics Lab test. I do not want to give anyone the wrong impression either, I think I have just gotten lucky on regards to how disinterested the collectors at this particular location are and I also think it is possible the company (which is east coast based- I am on the west coast) does not know exactly what type of sample is being taken.

I do appreciate everything I have read and been told. You and FakeBoobs do a great job of disseminating info while letting people know that there are no absoulutes. i will let you know how it goes.....

Oh yeah.. just to double check, my blood should be clean after about 10-12 days correct?

That is what I meant. They took it from your treated underarm and you still didn't pass. Like I said treatment doesn't work for some and I think you are one of them.

You are lucky they are letting you re-test, but I don't think you plan will work.
You already tried the head shaving deal once and it didn't work. The niacin and other stuff won't help either. Good luck and let us know how you turn out. I hope you prove I am wrong.

I did not mean to give the impression they only took 1/4 inch from me during my test. what I was trying to indicate in my other post is that they had actual examples of how much hair to take on the wall for the collectors. One baggie on the wall was labeled short hair and that one looked to have a lot of strands in it that to me looked to be about 1/4 inch (I will admit I could be wrong about the length as I was distracted and nervous.

I am very glad to hear that If I shave my head after being clean for 21-22 days any hair growing back will be clean. I am actually going to call the lab today, explain that I usually shave my head but that I know I will have to go in at some point for a test. I will ask what the minimum lenght they need is...

maybe this is the reason the "example on the wall" looked like it did. I got this from the link in Mr. Crowley's Sticky..

The Psychemedics laboratory needs the minimum equivalent of 50 strands of hair, 1 1/2 inches in length. If the test subject has short hair, then additional strands must be collected to meet the minimum laboratory requirements. (The lab needs a sufficient hair sample to melt to perform the tests.)

I amnot trying to at all to claim I know a lot about this subject I am just putting out a hypothesis (which is admittedly unsubstantiated)
