I have a question and was wondering if any one had heard similar information or would know whether or not this is completely false. I live in a very small area where there are two resorts that have pre-employment hair folical testing( why i mention the small area is because everyone knows everyone else, as well as there business and rumors fly around like crazy) . Any way, i have heard that the place i am applying at (again) only sends out 1 of every 7 samples from its applicants. The other resort sends out 1 out of 5. If the one sent out passes, then everyone passes. If the one fails, everyone is tested. I can understand how this could be cost effective but certainly not legal? i don't know?

I have had friends that have passed using only a head shop shampoo while smoking right up to the day which leads me to believe that maybe the 1 in 7 theory is what saved them. However lots of people have failed! So many so that managment is asking the resort to switch back to a urine screen. They are extremely short handed and the employees that they are forced to take because the passed their hair test aren't always the greatest. Any way, if any one knows anything please let me know.

P.S. if any one cares the reason why i am applying again i was turned down because a discrepense(sp) with my criminal record and a lady in hr has it out for me bad(nobody likes her). I never knew the results of the first hair test i took.

Where ever there are people there will be rumors. It is possible I guess that some companies could do that. I would imagine if the company that handled their compensation insurance found out, they would be pissed.
The same rumor has been around the company I work for too. I think the reason is pretty obvious. I live in a small town and lots of people know I smoke pot. I passed a hair test. The think the reason I got the job is because the company didn't send in my sample. They figure that has to be the reason because drug test can't be beat.
Some people pass and some people don't. I don't know why but that is the way it is. I don't think it's because the sample isn't getting sent to the lab, but of course that is just my opinion. If they aren't going to test everybody then why bother at all? That just doesn't make sense to me.

Thanks 1toke, i had suspected that the 1 out of 7 thing was crap and now i feel a little more confident about it. I'll let y'all know my results when the time comes and in the mean time i'll keep searching and scrubing.
