Default Yep, it is another MacCuj0 question.

I have seen a million posts about this everywhere, but everyone has a bit of a different method here. So I thought I might try this method.

1) Strip hair with vinegar. <-- White distilled vinegar seems to be the consensus here, yes?

How long do I leave that in my hair? Some posts say 5 minutes up to 30 minutes. Is this a bit extreme?

2) Add clean and clear astringent in the pink bottle to already vinegar'd hair.

How long do I leave THIS in my hair? I've seen 2 min up to 30 on this one as well..

3) Rinse with Tide detergent.

Does the kind matter? Also, how exactly am I rinsing with this product? Do I use the tide detergent like water?

4) Shampoo then with Nexxus Aloe Rid or Paul Mitchell 3. (Further name unknown to me.)

At least the night before and day of. Does anyone believe the more times you use this method, the better it actually works or is one-two strippings enough?

Also - does this work equally well minus the shampoo? Could the shampoo hurt this method at all?

Also - what does this method do to heavily dyed hair? Will it lighten it significantly?

White is the most popular but some use apple cider vinegar. Most vinegar contains 5% acetic acid whether it is white, apple cider, rice wine, malt vinegar etc. I think as long as you get something with 5% acetic acid you are good to go.

I would start the clock after adding the C & C and go at least 5 minutes. A little longer couldn't hurt as long as you are not applying so little that it dries up during that time. I went a little longer but that is because I have thich hair so I felt it needed longer to penetrate my thick hair.

Use the Tide like detergent, not like water. Why or how would you use Tide as water??? That was kind of an odd question. Which Tide, any probably work but I would avoid the one that has the color safe bleach already in it.

Also, it would seem that since Mac removes THC metabolites that if you do it multiple times it will remove more. Also, there is probably a point of diminishing returns when using it multiple times. The Alor Rid treatment and PM3 shampoos are not a part of the original Mac method. He did recommend an aloe shampoo or conditioner but I think this was for hair care and not beating the test. Depending on the type of color in your hair and what the color is and your original color, it probably will effect it.

White or apple cider. It doesn't matter.

MacCujo says 10 min. some do it longer.

MacCujo says 5 min. some do it longer. I guess they have the mindset that if 1 is good 2 is better.

You wash your hair with it. Liquid or powder is OK.

Any moisturizing shampoo will do. This just puts moisture back in you hair that the other ingredients takes out.

Thank you so much for the information? I bought two boxes of Zydot, since the consensus seems to be that using both methods may be a bit more effective. I will, at the very least, use Zydot.

As far as the tide detergent question, people seem to reason that they are rinsing out the other products WITH the tide detergent, such as you would do with water. I was inquiring to see if you added the tide detergent in with the OTHER products and then if you simply washed all this out, or left everything in and THEN added a shampoo with a follow up rinse.

Some have had good results lately with the Mac/Zydot combination.

Just wash your hair with the Tide followed by a moisturizing shampoo. Good luck.
