My hair is about 12 inches long. Does that mean they will use all of it and track my usage for 2 years? Or do they just cut it at 1.5 inches from the root?

Also, how fucked up would my hair get by using the MacCujo method? I feel like if I did it and walked in there with 12 inches of strange looking hair, they could get suspicious. Thanks for your help!

They cut the sample and and place it in the foil wrapper which indentifies the root end. The lab cuts the first 1.5 inches from the root end and discards the rest.
The collector just collects the sample and sends it to the lab. It's not a fashion show. They don't care what your hair looks like.

sorry, i have a few more questions:
how long should i wait between doing the Mac treatment and Zydot on the morning of the test?

Also, can someone please explain to me the following info on the Quest hair test site. I tried to research it online, but got confused. What is the main difference between THC and THC-COOH? THC-COOH is more readily present in long term users after their body converts the THC in their fat cells?
And what is the difference between the screen cutoff and the confirmation cutoff? I am assuming it means if you have higher than the screen cutoff, they test again, but I want to be sure.
If took a few bong hits 2 months ago, how much THC (in pg/mg) am I likely to have in my hair?
THC Screen cutoff: N/A Confirmation cutoff: 5 pg/mg
THC-COOH Screen cutoff: 1 pg/mg Confirmation cutoff: 0.1pg/mg

THC-COOH is a metabolite of THC, which means your body converts THC into THC-COOH. I read that drug screens test for THC-COOH because it is impossible for it to get into your system unless you have actually ingested thc. This prevents false positives from external contamination.

The hair is washed before testing to prevent environmental contamination and GC/MS test for 1 THC metabolite to exclude false positives. There virtually are no false positives anymore since they started using GC/MS.
