Hey all, I've been done smoking for about a month but before that i was a daily user. I have a medical exam coming up in a few weeks that definitely requires a urine test (which i'm not too worried about) and a rumored possible hair sample. I was just curious if anyone knew what type of test the FDNY administers prior to appointment. And if it is a hair sample, the best way to pass this test

If I remember correctly a year or so ago there was a poster that was getting a hair test for the NYFD.
The MacCujo method and Zydot combination will probably be your best bet, if your head hair isn't too short. They prefer 1.5 inches for the sample and will take body hair if sufficient head hair isn't available.
Since it appears you haven't read much in this forum I will tell you that if you have smoked pot in the last 90 days, nothing will guarantee you to pass. All you can hope for is to increase your chances. Some pass and some fail. You don't have much clean time vs. your smoking history, but you may be able to pass. The only way to know is to take the test.

Thanks for the information.. so each strand of hair they pull has to be 1.5 inches or they go for body hair?

No. They cut the hair with scissors. They have taken less than the 1.5 inches, but 1.5 inches if preferred. For example my sample was a little less than 1.5 inches. Others have had 1/2 or 3/4 inches taken. It is up to the collector whether to take the sample or not. Then it is up to the lab to accept it.
One person that I remember off hand. Had the sample taken. Started smoking again. The lab said it was insufficient sample. They had to retest and if I remember correctly failed the retest.
Don't smoke until you have the job.

K, last question.. i read up on the MacCujo method and the materials don't sound hard to get a hold of. For the Zydot method however, do i have to order the stuff directly from their website?

Thanks for all the info toke i really appreciate it.. i just talked to someone who recently took the medical and he said its just urine and blood.. if so you think ill be alright? I recently took a home test i purchased at this pharmacy and i came up neg for THC, are those tests an accurate representation of what i can expect from the real test?

If you don't smoke. You passed a home test. You should be good.
