I was on such an emotional high yesterday when I found out that I had passed my drug test and would be starting my new job today. Showed up for work at 8:40 AM a full 20 minutes before my start time of 9 AM. Signed in and was told by the security officer to have a seat and my manager would be out in a minute. Sat in the waiting area for a full 45 minutes waiting for him to show up. Got a call from my headhunter and was told there was a huge mistake and that the position was filled internally already without the knowledge of the HR department. My headhunter and the VP of executive recruiting(the man I met with who had informed that I had the job upon passing a background check and drug test) were both unaware that the job was already filled. Now I am out of a dream job, was totally humiliated and pissed off as hell.

I am thinking of hiring a lawyer cause this is BS. How can they treat me this way. Make me wait 3 weeks to do all this stuff to get cleared and then arrive to work and be told I do not have the job that I thought I had, anymore. Is this even ethical? Do you guys think I have a case?

I find it really hard to believe that the HR person wouldn't know the job was filled either internally or externally. I don't know if you have a case, but it is bullshit.
At least now you know how to pass a hair test.

That really bites a big one. I don't know if you have a case either. That sounds like a lawyer question. I hope something turns out good for you. You deserve something special. If Mamabudz was here I know she would tell you to....Have a cookie. Especially after you went through hell to pass a damn test. I am so sorry they put you through that shit.
