I am a very infrequent user. About four times in my whole life, spread out over about 3 years. I'm really paranoid about a lot of things, and I need some peace of mind. I haven't even gotten the job yet, but I'm afraid I've already screwed up my chances b/c I will be drug tested if I do. On June 1st, I took about 1 hit of purple (I know very little about it, if its potent and how much I actually consumed). If I do get the job the drug test will probably be in 2-3 weeks. The job requires a urine AND hair test. I'm not so concerned about the urine test, but the hair test is freaking me out b/c they can detect up to 90 days. Will the levels of THC be higher b/c I smoked so recently? Um, as a side question (although I'm not sure if anyone can even answer this): I have a job w/in the company already, if I don't pass this pre-employment drug test could I get fired from my current job? Why or why do they have to do both tests???

If june 1st is the only time you have smoked in the past 90 days, you should pass with no problem. The threshold for detectable levels is 3 seperate sessions in the 90 day period. They perform both tests because there is 1-2 week period before thc shows up in your hair after smoking.

Any more thoughts? I know I'm probably just being paranoid. I don't think I even smoked that much. I also have very thin, fine and blond hair which probably will not grow very much in the next week. If I buy a drug testing kit at Wal-greens for urine and it shows negative, do you think that is a good way to see if I really smoked that much? Its been 3 days.

If your urine test is going to be in 2-3 weeks and june 1st is the only time you have smoked in the past 3 months, then you have nothing to worry about for both a urine and a hair test.

If you want some peace of mind, use a home drug test from a drug store in a week. If that comes up clean, then your urine screen will too.

Relax. There is practically no way the amount of THC will be detected in your hair. Don't freak. With only one hit to your credit, you should be able to pass a urine test with no problems as well.

Don't smoke anymore before the test and you should be fine.
