| Wasn't too sure where to stick this...so if proper thread location is needed, im all for it ![]() Anyway, to make a long story short, I was an occasional smoker that went daily a ways back. Recently I was diagnosed with high blood pressure, Im a fairly young guy, so to say that I was concerned is an understatement. I was having chest pains, and as a result, I was put on blood pressure meds. Then I was fine, still smoking everyday, but fine. Then I got a blood pressure cuff ![]() Low and behold, when I smoke it kicks up my blood pressure a bit, but nothing prepared me for the next number I normally have a pulse of around 60 (pretty good if i do say so), but after I fired up my old buddy, a took my vitals again and my pulse spiked to 160 (and my chest being rdy. Needles to say, I sh@t a brick. I tried it out again the next day, and same thing. I also tested it out on my bro, and his has about the same effect. To make this long story a bit shorter, my Q is this: How much effect should smoke normally have on a persons pulse and or blood pressure? Have I gotten into a batch of something bad (cause it really muffes me and my buds up, darn quick too)? Thanks | |
