| Does anybody here work for the Government? A couple days ago, went for a job interview to work for the City. I was told that I pretty well have the job, but I need to wait until the end of the month until they make a final decision. Originally, I assumed I would get a urine test since that's what every other company has had me do in the past. But while I was reading up on drug tests to see what my odds are of passing, I read something saying that the military uses hair tests. Does anybody know if this is true? I also read something else saying that the government only does preemployment drug test for jobs like the military, police, and bus drivers, where the employee could cause physical harm to others if they are intoxicated while on the job. If this is true, I'm in the clear. Does anybody here know if this is true or not? Any info on governmental jobs would be great! It is difficult to find info on this topic. Oh by the way, I am from Florida if that is of any help. | |

| I can tell you with 100% certainty that the military used urine tests from 1992-1995. I couldn't tell you what they use today, but I've never heard that it's changed. If you want the current answer, call a recruiter and ask... or ask a MEPS station, who would actually do the pre-screening. (And they definitely pre-screen. Don't go in drunk either, because they screened me for that also) |
