Angry GM and other testing policies

I am looking to become an engineer in the near future (Co-op through my college) and I need to know what kind of drug testing policies companies have for engineers, especially GM. I know I'll have to take a test initially, but is there random testing afterwards? Will there be hair tests? Do drug test shampoos really work? I know the urine test products work, so I am not so worried about that. Please, someone who knows something, help me.

P.S. On a side note, I just figured I should voice my opinion that someone who could get nearly strait A's through high school, get up and go to school and work, and still get high everyday should be commended, not beaten down by the overly conservative corporate America weilding a big stick with "DRUG TEST" stickered on the side!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hmm...First of all, how do you KNOW there will be an initial test? When I did co-op, I was not tested. Neither were any of my friends in college that co-oped. If they do test you, I'd imagine it will be a urine test. That's what most premployment tests are because they are much cheaper than hair tests. If the urine test comes back inconclusive, they might send you for a hair test the second time because those are more accurate.

Second, which urine test product do you know of that works? I was told that NONE of those urine test products work. Have you ever used this product yourself? If so, please advise on which one you used. This could be very helpful. Thanks.

To Monster02 (and anyone else that can help):
Well, I don't KNOW that there will be a drug test, but I imagine there would be since they will be paying me a lot more than Kroger did when I worked there, and Kroger tested me. By the way, where did you go to school? I'm going to Kettering University in Flint, MI. If you went, or are going, there, do you know if they have any policy about drug tests for their students? Also, were you in engineering, and if so, does that field seem overly strict on the drug issue, or might they still hire me even if I failed a test just for pot? Do you know much about random testing policies? Anyway, the product I have seen work is called Herbal Clean Quick Tabs. Go to www.herbalclean.com. My friend failed only one or two monthly tests over the two or three years that he was on probation, so it seems to have a fairly high success rate, and I think he screwed up on the occasions that he failed.
