I thought that I'd write and let everyone know how I passed a hair test....

I know in the days prior to taking the test, I was panicking and checking every web site known to mankind and I was scared ****less that I;d buy one of those $130 shampoos and it wouldnt work, or that Id fry my rather long, blond, EXPENSIVE hair off for sure, but after reading over this site, I found some great ideas that I thought I'd share with everyone.

Now, to give you some background, the hair test I had was a 90 day test, and I was about 45 days clean. I THOUGHT I was going to have to take a pee test, but no such luck, and so began my 7 days of freaking out. I am by no means a pot head, but I do smoke a few times a week. Like I said before, I have blonde hair which I also get highlighted and it's also fine in texture...all of which worked for me. It's easier to clean the internal structure of the hair if it's lighter and finer, and the bleaching only helps more.

Now, vinegar softens the hair shaft, so twice a day I had a strict regimen: First, I would pour red wine vinegar into my hair and then put on a vinyl showercap. I'd let it soak for about 10 minutes and then I'd rinse with WARM water (cold will make the shaft close again) then I'd follow by shampooing with Nexxus Aloe Rid shampoo (found in JC Penney). I'd let that sit for about 5 minutes, and then rinse with warm water... I'd then use the Nexxus Aloe Rid treatment (which is a green gel that clarifies the hair) This treatment is great for your hair, and right on the bottle it says "removes medication from the internal structure of the hair" So, I'd soak in that for 10 minutes and then rinse and follow with just a regular clarifying conditoner (I used Neutrogena Clarifying Conditioner) and then just style as usual.

I also steered clear of any drugs that might UP the levels of metabolites in the system to be right at the failing point. Theres certain cut-off levels that they have, and even if you test positive, they cant fail you unless youre ABOVE those levels.

Also, pray.... cause once they cut off that hair... theres nothing else you can do.

I hope I helped out some people. I know I was SCARED to death when there was a chance of failing.... so just do whatever you can and good luck to ya!!

Man!!!! I wish I had read your thread before I took mine!!! And man!!! I wish I had bought some of that Nexxus Aloe Rid Shampoo!!!! I looked all over for it - I live in a SMALL town - and by the time I had heard about it - it was too late to travel and look for it I still haven't heard about the results from my test. But - I pray - EVERYDAY!!!!! That god will intervene and work for me to get me out of yet another one of my FOOLISH - CHILDISH mistakes!!!!! My hair is also SUPER fine and kinda long - I also feel like I shoulda cut some off the ends - it definately couldn't have hurt any (seeing as how I have a few dead ends) - but I did do the Vinegar - Clean & Clear and Tide treatment to my hair - ???????? - once the day before and the day of like 2 hours before I went to get my hair cut - so .........??????? - We shall see I suppose!! Hopefully this method works for me. I dont know if thick long brown hair makes a difference? Hopefully not, or else Iam S*it out of luck.
