| Is anyone aware if the Airforce ROTC program administers blood tests upon entrance to the program?? A fellow marine friend mentioned that if they do, the technology that they use checks for up to 90 days. I have not smoked in 60 days and will have my military physical in 2 weeks or so. I had to fill out a form stating whether or not I have ever tried pot, and honesty was encouraged.... well I lied. I just want to make sure that I will not be court martialed for perjury, so if anyone is in the know, PASS IT ON!!!! Thanks! | |

| Blood (and LOTS of it) will be drawn at your physical. I also went into the Air Force ROTC program, and when I had my physical, it lasted all day, and they took blood 4 different times. I have no idea what they test(ed) for, though. I don't know why they'd test for marijuana, really, but they might. And I don't know anything about the 90 day thing. So all I can really tell you is blodd will be drawn. Good Luck! I forgot to say that when I had my physical, I had not yet tried pot, so that was not a particular worry of mine, so I can't offer any advice there, either...sorry | |

| A fellow marine friend mentioned that if they do, the technology that they use checks for up to 90 days. I've never heard of any urine testing that checks for up to 90 days. Since the detectable stuff is gone in 30, what would they use to detect 90 days? Unless they're taking hair samples (unlikely without good reason) I would think you'll be fine after 60 days. Sounds like your marine friend was either grossly misinformed or yanking your chain. I just want to make sure that I will not be court martialed for perjury Are ROTC people subject to the UCMJ? I've done active duty but not ROTC... you'll have to educate me on that. I know people that were kicked out for failing a drug test. Perjury was never the issue. Likely scenario: You'll be screened for drug use, including marijuana. If you come back positive, you'll be denied access to the program and flagged as such in the future. End of story. |
