i might have to take a blood test sometime next week for checking for a disease. my question is if there not looking for marijuana and they were just looking for like a type of disease would they come across it???

I don't think so. Like getting a mono test I think they only check for mono, etc.

No. The test for marijuana in the blood is very specific and very expensive. It is not covered by most insurance companies.

so great to see those precious kids have a place to go to get the truth! I raised a bunch and they smoke, responsibly for the most part, and I know I don't know everything, but they still tell me lots...
It is a real shame to see so many young ones worrying about these dreaded tests...I'm so old that when I was their age the only tests you got were for joining the army or getting married.
Read the lab order and ask your Doctor or nurse questions, or read your Grade twelve Biology book. Or buy a nursing manual and a Taber's Medical dictonary. Or Blake's. Ask a Biology teacher what the symbols mean. Get on the internet and check. In fact, I will do just that and if I find a comprehensive site, I'll post the address. But quit worrying and do your research. you guys are too smart to let THEM get on your case like that.
Marijuana is the single most beneficial mildly psycho-active substance in the world, and THEY don't want us to use it because big pharma and big business wil lose , as we clear away the lies.
Please work hard in school, don't smoke likea maniac, it's always going to be there, and be responsible; As for tests, if iyour lab order x's "tox" in any form, question it, politely and without allowing the pitch of your voice to rise. i'm kinda in the same situation...
i need a blood test to see if i have any of several intestinal problems...so, if they are screening for say, 5 or 6 different things, they probably won't find any thc...right?

(i know mama already answered this, but i am just scared i'll get put in lockup or something...the doctors wouldn't do a drug test without my consent, would they?)

oh, i forgot to mention, i quit for like 8 months (thought i would lose weight, but didn't); i plan on smoking (or eating weed, or vaporizing when i get mine in the mail) almost every day now...most likely including the time between today and the day of the test (approx. jan 7.)


please reply...even if you don't, thanks for your time.

Are you a minor? Because if not, then I don't see what you're so worried about. They can't go telling your parents without your consent.

yes, i am a minor...my parents know i smoke (mom is semi-ok with it: "you're old enough to make your own decisions, but i don't wanna hear about anything illegal"; dad has mixed feelings)...in fact my mom is *expecting* me to get my blood drawn when i'm high...

mama said the mj test is expensive, and insurance doesn't cover it...so they'd have to let you know if they were doing it just b/c it would cost so much more, right? i don't see why they would even do that (test) to me when the problem is most likely in the gut itself...just wanna be safe though!!

...if they *did* test for maryjane and it showed up, my parents most likely wouldn't make a big deal out of it. they'd just give me the "drugs are bad" lecture, and shell out 20 bucks when i ask to go "shopping" afterward .

since the "pot test" isn't required by anyone, i couldn't have any serious consequences, i.e. locked up or forced to be sober...right? that's all i care about; i wanna keep my right to smoke as much as i want, whenever i want .
