Hello- Great site, alot of info, I've been wanting to post in this forum and I haven't been able to until they got this new format going...

But here is my situation and story:

Background:
Got a job offer mid July, found out I was going to have hair test, which was scheduled for about 30 days later.

Physical attributes:
High metabolism, about 6 ft, light brown/blond hair, 190 pounds

Usage:
Back in the begining of June, nightly pot smoking for about a week or so.
Also messed around with coke for a good bit towards the end of June, like less than a half a gram on 6 or 7 occasions. I know it might be not allowed to talk about but it is worth mentioning after you hear my practice results.

System/Regiment I used to clean my hair:
-MAC method almost every day since the middle of July, leaving the ingredients in much longer than recommended (30 mins for vinegar and saly)... so probably about 15 MAC treatments.
-Following the Tide used in the MAC method I jumped in the shower and washed my hair with AloeRid Shampoo, followed by AloeRid Treatment (I bought two bottles from USABeauty supply online). Makes your hair very rough and brittle btw.
-Around the end of July I bleached and redyed my hair, following a haircut.
-I had purchased a hairconfirm express test kit off the internet and I snipped off some of my hair and sent it in, this was the day following the redye.

Results:
I got my results the following day and they were all NEGATIVE. I mean how in the hell?! The hairconfirm test kit used 500pg/ml cut off levels for cocaine and 100pg/ml for marijuana. I called them and I reconfirmed I was negative.

My real test is coming up and I've still been washing my hair with the MAC treatment + AloeRid Combo. I also purchased Zydot ultra clean and will use that the day of the test.

Any comments on my situation and my results would be greatly appreciated. And I hope this helps anyone else who is in my position

You think there is any chance I might fail?
I just have a hard time believing the hairconfirm lab (which is omega labs) tested it and it didn't come up with anything- i believe i did enough drugs to be well within range of detection.
Also are the cut-off levels of psymedics or other labs more stringent?

Cutoff levels are the same. Bleaching and redying is very effective.

We have had many heavy users with little clean time pass after bleach and dye.

Use the Zydot the day of the test, you should be fine.

Thanks Jerry-
You think I should go ahead and shave the rest of my body to make sure they take it from the top of my head? Or would that look suspicious? Do most people who get the test done given the option of where they want the sample taken from?

If you have close to the 1.5 preffered length of hair you don't need to shave your body. The collector decides where the sample comes from. They prefer to take the sample from the head if sufficient length is there.

Its really hard to say how long the hair *must* be before the collector opts for another source. When my sample was taken, my hair was 1.25" and they didn't flinch at ALL about it. I know I could have gotten away with 1", and probably .75"... Hindsight is 20/20!

Of course, every collector is different.

That is where cutting your hair too short may become a problem.

Thanks for the replies- really put me at ease.

Test is tomorrow, so just to be sure I redyed my hair, MAC method, and then I'll use the Zydot stuff in the morning.

After going thru all this BS I had hope it would work on the offical test
