I think we want the cuticle open so thc metabolites can be destroyed. Bleach is a very strong basic, opens the cuticle. When I bleach and redye, I use Toxin Wash(a powerful clarifying shampoo) to wash out the bleach and the dye. Then, between the last redye and the test, I continue to use TW preceded by a baking soda paste(another basic). Then, on the day of the test I do the baking soda, TW, regime, followed by a full Zydot treatment. I have a feeling that the two bleach and dyes are what really does the trick.

| Jerry, I think the bleach and redye regiment is what works. I have read several scientific papers that have supported this argument. I have also read some new studies relating to UV light destroying THC metabolites. In any case, no time for science now, however I do feel it my duty to continually contribute to this forum long after the test. The more people we can get to beat the system at their continued attempts to destroy our privacy, the better. It is our political duty my friend. |

| On somber note however, unless the laws in this country change, we can only expect these tests to be more effective. Hair tests now cost only 60 dollars down from 300 dollars only 3 years ago which means they will become the standard in drug testing. Beyond that? I am sure advances in nanotechnology or genotechnology in the next decade will introduce ways of detecting an entire history of drug use. All in all we are fighting a loosing battle and I have sympathy for the younger generations among us. |

| gosh, this probably should be in a separate thread somewhere, but Fukdasystem's response got me stuck on this tangent, so here it is. The "5 panel drug test": Cocaine, Methamphetimine, Opiates, PCP, Marijuana. It got me thinking: why did they leave out alcohol? merely because its currently legal? its a far stronger drug in its psychoactive and addictive effects than the last one on the list and isnt it the worst offender of all regarding violence and lost employee work productivity? Well i dont want them to start testing whether or not i have an occasional glass of wine with my dinner, since then it would be similar in purpose and effect to testing if i were to have an occasional after dinner toke, but they test for one case but not for the other. So which of the two is the more dangerous drug, can you guess? It merely means that if you are part of a drug-abusing majority you can get your drug habit grandfathered in as acceptable. So will it eventually happen that the zero-tolerance capability of these hair tests will cause companies to find that an important proportion of their 'responsible' workforce to be composed of occasional smokers? Look at all the pot heads in that company. Or will we continually evolve ways to fool the tests (as with urinalysis), so the self-serving illusion continues and addicts of far more dangerous drugs who know the techniques to thwart the test will pass, while the occasional user who doesn't, will get caught. Coerced medical probing. So how did society ever get on this slipperly slope? Right, George Orwell implied that this would happen under the umbrella of a corporate entity where the tolerance of society and constitutional protections are obscured. So I thought our bodies were rightly our own and it was our conduct and character that is on display. If easy ways are found around hair testing will they eventually be probing body cavities and take biopsies? so they have the right to do what? how far will they go? whatever $75 will buy and an intimidated employee will sign off on? So I'd like to read what the corporate rationale is for drug testing. Isn't it already blaringly clear when an employee has a drug/mental/social problem that interferes with their work? I wonder if the policy has hepled companies or merely kept them from hiring some very bright engineers. The party line probably goes along the lines: "We drug test prospective employees to ensure their duties and loyalties will not be compromised by drug habits they may be beholden to." I hope the policy thugs merely think deeper about that if they are able to. After all, this is done under the scope of employee productivity, is it not? I cant see that in the testing being done. Rather it looks as if the corporate body is setting up its own policing system with its own rules, since even the government won't do hair testing due to problems with efficacy. |

| First of all, awesome post Atomic, a pleasure to read and spot on. I look forward to reading more from you ... Ok to business, had my second bleach/redye session today. The hairdresser used Matrix hair bleach and dye and massaged it in thoroughly and also left it in for about 30 mins at a time. In the last 3 hours my hair has gone from red to white to dark, dark brown. Tomorrow is my test, at 2 pm I go to the medical facility for a lengthly physical, at some point during this time I will give my sample of hair and this chapter, however it ends, will be over. Will be preparing for a surprise urine analyzes just in case. Jerry - any last tips m8? |

Dilution for the win, a little aspirin 4 hours before, Tums to raise gravity and vitamins for color. I usually dilute with cranberry juice - have passed 5 UAs this way. All of these were with only 2-3 days clean - as of this moment I am 13 days clean.
