First let me say that I am sorry for the long post. I have read many of the threads from results and from several modrs (Jerryg, 1toke....). I hope I post this correctly since I am short on time.

First my stats, 48 yrs old 5-4 175lbs low motabl. mostly gray and receeding hair. Getting cut today from 3 in to 1.5 or so. Lots of body hair but always keep cut a 1/4 inch. "everywhere" for my wife. (thats how I have stayed married for 25+ yrs)

I have been a life time heavy(every day 3x or more per) user with a few short periods of abstinence, trying to go clean or for job apps. Last 10 years or so only the best of good stuff. Did past a hair test 4 yrs ago(last abstinence period) after only staying clean for 90 days and hair cuts and clarifying shampoos. But I see from this website that things have changed alot since then.

I take prescibs for high blood pressure daily(benicar,coreg,folbee,80m asprin)
also daily
phentermine
3 or 4 times a week
hydroco and xanex
OTC daily per phys orders
Cent A2Z vita and glucosamine and vit e tabs

I thought I was going to have 90 days to stay clean but found out 5 days ago that did not. I have been clean for 35 days now and test is in 3 days.

I tried to read as much as I could but still had some questions(that I am sure if I had more time I could have found somewhere on this sight) so forgive me if ask a "bad" question.


Phew... now for my ???'s

1. Dont know if I can do the dye treatment BUT if I did what does number 30 refer too? My wife has Feria Extra Blond kit with ceteareth 30 in the developer and oleth 30 in the cream?

2. The Macujo thing. Sometime posters say apple cider vinegar and some say vinegar. What KIND of vinegar is best?

3. How do you use the baking soda method? Do make a paste or do you buy it?

4. I dont know what kind of products I have available her e in Las Vegas but will later today after researching. I do have Aloe Rid Shampoo and Wife is bringing home Paul Mitchell 3 shampoo. Will try to locate Zydot. Any other suggestions?

5. I now have the rest of today Mon 10-22 all of tommorrow as days off, when not working on Wed and Test is Thur morning 10-25 10am pst to emplement a plan of action. On some threads its says to do one or the other method not both and others seem to have the whole kitchen sink.
What method does one try?

Also will be looking for products with "TEA Lauryl Sulfate" and "Propylene Glycol" in them

I will post my results.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

With grey hair, a bleach and redye is probably not feasible unless you are okay with the younger look for a while. Could you shave you head after the test?

30 refers to the level of peroxide use to bleach hair. 30 is strong.

Either type of vinegar is fine.

You will find Zydot, or you can overnight, it's all over the web.

Alor rid shampoo does nothing, it is the discontinued treatment that contained propylene glycol as does Zydot's purifier.

Just take baking soda, and add water to make the paste.

The first stage of hair straighteners and perm kits contains ammonia, and opens the cuticle. Several people here have used this technique with success.

You are going to need a lot of treatment, but 35 days clean is a good start...

Thanks for the quick reply JG. I agree the dye thing is not feasable for test. My current employer might not appreciate the radical change in hair color. Will get the zydot if I can.
My hair stylist had Nioxon cleanser. It has both the "tea LS" and "Prop Gly" in it. will start using this as my conditioner. She also told of the local head shop that might have the zydot. She also has helped people with the dye thing. The test tech would not take head hair and tried to take hair from other parts of body and if they could not take it from there they just marked it a failed test(Qwest dia). UNBELIEVABLE! She said that grey hair is a plus in my favor. She had not heard of the macujo thing but said it made some sense. Told me to be very very careful. She deals with customers all the time on this subject. She recommends 90 to 120 days clean and cleansers such as the nioxon or others from the head shop. And hair cuts to get rid of oldest hair.

So I think I will try the head shop b4 dinner and start the macujo treatment tonight.

One more thing what do you do with baking soda paste? How would you incorporate it into the Mcjo method?

Use the paste before you use the Nioxin. Also use it right before you use the Zydot on the day of the test.

I think that the gray hair might be in your favor as well.

Think about doing the first stage of a perm treatment, then wash it out with the Nioxin. This seems to be very effective.

There is a shop called Diversity in Vegas, they should carry it. Omni is also a good product. If you can get both they compliment each other.

Just got back from diversity and got the last 2 packs of zydot
Also got vinegar, clean n clear and tide.
Will do one treatment of everything tonight.

Macujo, bakepaste, nioxon then zydot.

Will try to check out the 1st stage thing tommorrow and throw that into the mix tommorrow.
will try to do Macujo, bakepaste, nioxon, 1ststage, nioxon, then zydot a couple of times. Then one more time on thursday.

I know thats only 4 times but its the best I can do. Tons of thanks again for all the help.

Also clerk at diversity said to use 3 half portions then full portion on day of test. Also said that they give 300 percent money back on zydot and rarely gets returns. Told her my conditions and said she felt very confident I would not be back for refund. At least it was a little encouragement.

Any more thoughts are always welcomed

One more question.

Went to beauty store (sallys) to check on the dye method.
she showed me me several different manufr. and bottles with 20 30 and 40 volume. Then she said I would need a second bottle of the color of blond I would like to use.

Do I need the small bottle of color or do I use just the bottle that has the volumed perixode in it?

Or will a couple of the Ferias kits that I mentioned above work.

Have had more time to read more of the threads and now thinking I should use the Dye/zydot method instead of the Macujo/zydot method.

Will wait untill tommorrow to start.

I don't know the details of how my hair gal goes it. I just know that two bleach and redyes works for most people.

Don't place too much faith in the clerk. The refunds are handled by Zydot, not the retailer, and it's 100%, not 300%.
