First the good news. Went for my test today and was postponed for 2 MORE WEEKS. This was good because I tried the relaxer then nioxon method. OMG! Fried fried my scalp like a motherf&^%$#r!!!! Cause scaps and whole head burnt like 2nd degree burns. But only had a day or so (see Plz help 2.5 day to go) so after that method went to the macujo method and OPPS things went from worst to even worst! I could BARELY shampoo my hair. So when I went in to do my test today I was sure I was screwed. I was able to barely get a zydot in. So now for the bad news. Although I have 14 more days I dont know what I am going to do. By the time I take my test now I will be 56 days clean. I will let my head heal for a couple of days and try again. I wont try the relaxer method again. So now for new questions 1. When people say the bleach their hair. Are they using clorox or a peroxide based dye. BIG difference between the two. 2. When I finished with these methods my hair was like straw. Is it bad to use a super type of conditioner? 3. Jerry G, I assume from your replies to my previous ???? that you go to a salon and have your hair dyed and colored. Is this correct? Do you ask for "bleach" are do you ask to go blond and back to say brown....? How painful is the dye process. I used to use "just for men" dye and never had a bad reaction so Im thinking that this may only last resort. I dont think the macujo, PM3, nioxon, ARS zydot method is going to be enough. Another point on the macujo method. Tide doesnt seem make a tide plus bleach. They DO make a tide with a bleach alternative and they are all color safe. I wonder if this will make a difference. One more note. Has anyone read that free ebook online by the guy that used to work for a drug test company. He does seem to validate alot that is said in this forum. May be bogus though. If you wont me to give you the link let me know. I am worried that my scalp may be to sensitive for these types of abuses. I cant be the only one with this problem. Lets see if we can up with a solution. Thanks again ( I know I have said this many many times) for all the input and help. LVNV48 a little shoot out to the gals from sallys

Pal, It's time I get a sticky for this method.(lol) The fact that the nioxin after hair relaxer stung your skin tells me that it probably opened the cuticle of your hair as well. I have experienced the same thing during the bleach and redye process. I go to my hair gal, she "bleaches" with a 30 level peroxide. When she dyes back to brown she mixes a 10 level peroxide with brown hair color. One of the reasons I suggest a week between bleach and dyes is skin irritation. No pain no gain.

LV Forget the Mac if you are committed to bleaching and dying. From a scientific perspective they are contra. I don't think your skin could take both anyway. Last edited by Jerry G : 10-26-2007 at 03:55 PM.

If you have any Nioxin left, use it to rinse out the bleach and the dye each time. Let me know how it goes--JG PS--You have a great chance of passing... | |

I have been using Nioxion every day now for 8 days, plan on using every day up to test day. I am due to start some time in early Dec. I will post as soon as I know. Thanks again for all the help. lvnv48 PS What was your thought about conditioners? My hair is like straw so girl at sallys gave me a mega conditioner that turns straw into silk (even my wife loves it).

Hey, I've been reading through the forums, hair test coming up in 1.5 months. Just wondering, when you refer to Nioxin, what product of theirs do you mean specifically? Thanks for any help. PS - is it used as a replacement for toxin wash?

Look for one with propylene glycol, that is the active ingredient in Zydot's purifier.
