First off like many others have said I want to thank all on the board for the information thats been posted. Up at 4 am looking for any kind of info about hair testing and I finally found this place, I've been reading it non-stop since then trying to get all the info I can. I'll try to keep it short.
So I stopped smoking in the end of may 07'. Before that I smoked normally once a day on average throughout the previous 5 months. However I lapsed last weekend and took a few large hits off a b. Now my situation may be better or worse than the rest of the people on the site. There is the possibility that I may need to take a drug test sometime in the future (most likely in the next 4-5 months) because of personal issues. I'm not too worried about a piss test because I will most likely not be available for it over the next two weeks and I'd imagine with regular physical activity and drinking normal amounts of water I will be able to get it out of my system( is this a correct assumption?).
My fear is that I may instead have a hair test. Although it may seem a small possibility I'd rather be completely safe than sorry. I'm about 5' 11, 140-145lbs with fine, light brown hair, relatively long, probably 2.5-3.5in and very high metabolism. I've seen the posts about the "3 in 3 months" rule and it has given me at least a little hope. My real question is that I'd rather want to do everything I can to improve my percentage of passing a hair test if I were to take one so do you think I need to start? Really I'd just like to get my hair as clean as possible if you think that there is a good possibility I would fail currently. I'm going to get the Aloe Rid as well as the 3% salicyclic acid T-Gel and use them constantly in place of my normal shampoo. Also I plan to swim 3x a week in a chlorinated pool. So let me know what you think, I've been stressing about this since I toked and need to know if I should start using more drastic measures on my hair (like the Mac)??

You are fine. You should be able to pass a urine test this weekend. Your hair won't be above the cutoff.
