Default Need Info on Why & How Hair Treatments Work

I have been reading these threads on hair drug tests and decided to join as a new member. I just recently received a great job offer in my field! Great news, except they require a hair drug test. Yes, this job is important to me and I desperately want to pass. I have never had to take a drug test of any kind before. I am completely unfamiliar with any of this, just trying to gather as much information as possible.

I feel as though I have read plenty of information already on what it takes to pass the test. But I would really like to know why & how these treatments work so that I can make a decision on what I need to do pass.

I would like to know why and how these methods work:
Maccujo
Toxin Wash
Zydot
Bleach & Redye
Aloe Rid

...and what the best combination would be to pass(which I've already read a lot about on here).

I am a female.
Very dark thick hair.
Short hair (1 1/2 in. - 4in.)
5'3" & 115lbs.
Daily Smoker.
Quit smoking 9 days ago.
Hair test will be within the the next 2 weeks.
No specific date yet.

I would really like to stay away from the bleach & redye method. People would definitely notice, I already have a very distinct hairstyle. I am up for getting it cut to about 2 inches.

There is another website that I have been reading. Found it helpful, but wonder whether others have found it reliable.

pass a hair drug test

I will paste below a couple things from the website that may contradict what I'm reading on these threads. I have no idea how true or reliable these statements are. Again, I personally have no experience with hair tests and that is why I am looking for help from you guys!

Toxin Wash(Recommended)This treatment gave the best results of all the methods and products we tested to beat a hair drug test. All test subjects beat their hair drug tests after using this product, except for subject #6, who failed for the opiates but passed for marijuana.

Masking shampoos (Clear choice, Zydot Ultra Clean, Ultra Cleanse)
We tested only one of these three shampoos, since they all have the same ingredients and work the same way. Masking shampoos like the ones listed above are sold on most websites for around $25.00. We chose Zydot because it seemed to be the most popular one. It failed all lab test for all subjects. Masking shampoos work by sealing the cuticle, and interfering with the test results, not by actually detoxing the hair. These shampoos used to work well, but now the labs wash the hair thoroughly before testing it, and rinse way the masking product. So masking shampoos no longer work to beat a hair drug test.

Aloe Rid
Aloe Rid has been rumored on various internet chat rooms to work for beating a hair drug test. Aloe-rid is a clarifying shampoo used to remove accumulated pollutants. All tests results came back as failures after using Aloe-Rid. We feel that it would be a better product if it was stronger, like Toxin Wash. Anyway, it's a moot point because we were informed by the manufacturer that this product has been discontinued.

Home Remedy – Macogo Method
This method starts with washing your hair with vinegar, then following with Salicylic acid (Acne skin liquid medication). After that you wash your hair with tide detergent and rinse. This method had been rumored as the cure all to beat a hair drug test, but our test results showed that with this method, only subject #3, a very light marijuana user passed. All other subjects failed. Again, we feel the failure rate was due to the Salicylic acid not being a powerful enough acid to penetrate the cortex and cleanse the cuticle.

Bleach

One of the only things that can actually penetrate the hair cortex is bleach, which changes the pigment color. However, bleaching will not remove the drug metabolites. So if you are thinking of bleaching your hair for passing a hair drug test, don't bother, it doesn't work. If it was that easy, everyone would be doing it.

Thank you everyone!

Just a heads up, that website is a marketing website designed to get you to buy the product they say works best. I was a heavy user with less than 48 hrs clean. I had used several off topic club drugs within the past 60days. I used the mac, and hair mudd and testin shampoo. I passed. The idea behind most shampoos is to breakdown the protiens that encase the drug residues and than to wash those out with a good detergent. My suggestion to you because of your daily usage and hair type is a bleach and redye. Otherwise start mac'ing...mac often and get some a few zydots in before the test. A hair cut is in order as well, since the more "dirty hair" you have to give the lab the worse off you will be. Also do you know what lab you are sending your hair to? I have read that omega labs has a higher screening cutoff than most labs before they send it to the gas chrom....not sure if that is legit...but there is some stuff from one of there docs on the web saying that...

Quack...? I'm just trying to get as much information as possible in this short period of time. I'm new at all this drug testing stuff and trying not to get too freaked about it. I will stay away from the marketing sites.

Thanks mr.loserpunk. I will start macing everyday. I'll also try to put in an order for the Toxin Wash and Zydot. Definitely a haircut, and at this point seriously considering the bleach and redye. It's good to know that some of these methods are working for some people. Is that Nexxus Aloe Rid helpful at all to anyone?

I also want to know why and how these methods work. What will open the cuticle? And what will cleanse? There's a lot of talk about what to do, but I'm the type of person that likes to know why things work.

If you really are looking for information, spend a few hour here reviewing the results thread and using the search function.

The answers to all of your questions are here. If you need more information after you have researched, ask questions then.

We like to help, but those who try to help themselves get the best service...

I have been reading the results thready non-stop. It has helped calm my fears a bit by learning how so many have using various methods. And then I read this one, it's actually a part of a larger post, but this is what freaked me out:

"To validate prior posts, based on my brother's study of hair in LA, individuals of African-American and Asian decent are at an extreme disadvantage when being their hair is being drug screened. The reason for this is that they are the ONLY races who, 95% of the time, have what he called an impenetrable "medulla"; where the drug "fingerprints" are stored and are almost impossible to erase. Generally, a medulla is not found in the hair of those with other backgrounds and I found this to be a fact stated in his textbook. His comment was that there are very few persons not of African-American/Asian decent who are blessed withvery thin / "good" hair and there can be those not of this ethnicity who are "cursed" with a medulla. He recommended scheduling an appointment or consulting with a hair stylist to determne what type of hair you have to either avoid this torture because you will likely fail anyway or get the green light to scrub away. Therefore the key is not only the MacCuj0 method, but also having thin hair and NO medulla."

Could I be one of those few of asian decent that have NO medulla? I can't take my chances, if I don't pass this hair test, not only will I lose the chance at a great job, but my husband and I lose all health insurance as well. So regardless, I got all that's needed for the Mac method and went to Sally' Beauty Supply Shop.

I got Apple Cider Vinegar, pink Clean and Clear, and Tide with Bleach. At Sally's I bought the generic Nexxus Aloe Rid Shampoo (some say this is useless and some use it anyways). I also got the generic Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Special Shampoo, it cleanses hair and scalp of impurities. They didn't have PM3, but Tree Tree Oil is an astringent, so I'll try it.

Since Saturday I have been shampooing every morning by soaking hair in vinegar for 5 min and following up with the PM Tea Tree Shampoo, it definitely tingles. And then blow drying my hair and styling as usual.

At night I do the full Mac method, 20 minutes vinegar, 20 minutes Clean and Clear, and rinse with Tide. I've been wrapping my head with a hot damp towel as well. After the first Mac treatment making a huge stinky mess in the bathroom, I recommend using spray bottles for the vinegar and Clean and Clear and purchasing latex gloves and a shower cap.

I'm still reluctant to bleach and dye. And leaning towards the perming and relaxing methods. Even if I need to do it every night.

I know many of you recommend the bleach and dye and it may come to that. I will post as soon as I know more about the exact date and lab that will be used.

I do have a question? I haven't smoked for 12 days. And I've read that it takes 5-10 days since the last time for the marijuana to make it's way into the hair follicles. Am I safe to shave my body at this point? Any new growth should not have any metabolites in it, correct? The one thing that I have going for me is that my hair grows really fast. And if I can convince them to take body hair instead it may come out negative?

Sorry, for a ll the rambling, I'm just freaking out about all this.
