I'm starting a new thread because my last one was so jumbled due to my nerves about this hair test within the next 2 weeks. I don't know the exact date or lab it's being sent to yet. But I've been reading the results page non-stop.

Here's my info again:
Female, with high metabolism, 5'3" 115lbs.
Very dark, straight, Asian hair.
Short hair, 1 - 4 in.
Daily smoker.

I quit smoking on Oct. 25th, when I found out that the company does hair tests. I will lose a great job opportunity and all health insurance for me and my husband if I fail this test. (the insurance is important since I do have a health issue, been seeing a doctor every 3-6 weeks now) Bought all stuff for the Maccujo method, ordered Toxin Wash and Zydot (they're in the mail). Will be getting a hair cut, as short as I can go for a girl, will probably end up being 2in. on top, shorter on the sides.

I've been Macing every night. In the morning, washing by applying vinegar and shampooing with the generic PM Tea Tree Special Shampoo that I got at Sally's (they didn't have the PM3). But Tea Tree Oil is an astringent, has EDTA mentioned by others, and the shampoo is for cleansing hair and scalp. I also blow dry and style as usual in the morning. I'm not sure that it's really penetrating my smooth Asian type hair, it's just drying it out a little and hurting the scalp. I've got to do all that I can at this point.

I do have 2 questions right now. You're help is appreciated. I've read that it takes 5-10 days after the last smoke for it to grow into the hair. If that's true, am I OK to shave my body hair (it's been 12 days for me now)? The new growth should not have any metabolites, correct? The one thing that I've got going for me is that my hair grows fast. Also, when they do the sample, if the hair is longer than 1 1/2in., do they only submit 1 1/2in.? They shouldn't be allowed to submit more than that and go back further than the 90 days, that's a @#!%in' intrusion of your personal rights.

Are you going to try and bleach/redye?

I bleached and redyed this weekend. That burned, and I'm not sure if I got my hair color exactly right. But I plan to bleach and redye next weekend too. In the meantime I am macing every night and shampooing every morning with vinegar and PM Tea Tree Oil Shampoo.

Oh, I got the Toxin Wash and Zygot in the mail. I washed my hair with baking soda before the bleach and then washed that out with TW. And then redyed. All this is definitely getting to my scalp, I can't wait until it's all over. I'm still so nervous that all this isn't penetrating my cuticles.

My test is on the 20th and they use Quest.
