| So, i signed up for the military about a month ago... anyway, at the time i hadn't smoked in about a month-month and half... so i figured i would be good with any test. Well, everything was going good and i was going to go up to get tested when they found out i was on probation... so they weren't sure i could join. I figured i couldn't join and was kind of bummed so i went and toked with some buddies... anyway they called me back this week and said they worked it out with the courts and would all this shit put behind me. So i said ok and now it's been about a 11 days... they're going to blood test me and i'm pretty sure i won't be able to pass. Is there any way to speed along the process? Or should i just get them to push back the date of the tests? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Toke on. |

| If it is only a blood test you will past. It can only be detected in blood for up to 72 hours and that is for chronic smokers. If it is only a blood test you should be fine, if it is a urine test you still could pass based on your metabolism and exercise. It seems kind of odd to me that the military would only do a blood test as they generally tell if someone is currently on drugs or just recently used them, so you might want to make sure. |

| The military typically does not do blood tests.

Granted, that was 20 years ago. Things may have changed in the past two decades, but as I recall, the military uses urine testing pretty much exlusively. There may be certain circumstances (legal issues with CID or a medical issue come to mind) that a hair or blood test would be waarranted. | |

| My brother was recently in the Marines. They do blood tests and urine tests now sometimes because all of the Military guys who want to join usually have crew cuts or bald heads because they are military ready. They also know that they like to shave all over sometimes because they work out a lot. Anyways, just a thought. -Fellow Smoker Last edited by DtownSmoke : 11-07-2007 at 10:47 PM. Reason: wording |
