Well I picked up a home kit and used it first thing this morning. Everything came back neg. Bright red on all bars. Now I'm concerned if the want to do hair. My hair on my head is about 1/2 inch long with no body hair. Do you think they will they reject me for the test or try for fingernails?

It's been 40 days since last use.

I'm super concerned here....

Considering the light and infrequent nature of your smoking, it is highly unlikely that there will be enough THC metabolites in your hair to reach the fail threshold on a hair test.

I agree, I just think it's my overactive mind getting to me.

Has anyone here been to Psychemdrics? What happens in the event of no body hair and 1/4 head hair. Do you automatically fail or do they just take from different places on your head.

From what I've hear I don't think they do fingernails. Maybe someone who has had to got to then lately could answer these 2 question.

Okay here the scoop. I have shaved my entire body (don't laugh) even the down under, cut my hair to a #2 and have tested myself with a home kit. The kit came back completly clean for a 5 panel test. It will be 40 days since my last time and that was just one hit, before that about a hit a week. Here are my questions?

1. Do you think hair left on my head (1/4") has any traces of THC?

2. Will Psycomedics auctmatically fail me for having too short of hair and no hair on my body.

4. What valid excuse could I give Psycomedics for being shaved like Rufus the naked mole rat. Will they report this to the employer?

3. I don't think Psycomedics uses finger nails for analysis, is this true?

Any and all answers are welcomed. In other words please answer.

I told you to let your hair grow until after the test. Your last haircut was well beyond your last use. Your usage was light enough that you probably could have passed with no treatment at all. A bleach and dye job would have virtually ensured you a pass. No, they will not take 1/4 inch of hair. Yes, they could say you refused to test when even your underarm and pubic hair is shaved.

I (and bogo; and buzzby) told you that you should be fine for a test. Now, if they cannot test you, they may just pass on you.

If this was a urine test and you couldn't go pee within 3 hours, you would only have 5 business days to go to a doctor and find a medical reason why you couldn't urinate on that day at that time. If there is no medical explanation, you are considered to have refused to test and deemed the same as a positive drug test.

With hair, you have deliberately adulterated the test to make no acceptable hair available for testing. Sometimes, SOMETIMES, the collector will take 1/2 inch. Most won't cut anything less than 1 inch. With you only having 1/4 inch, probably that will be unacceptable for any collector. Even swimmers and bicyclist have SOME hair. Riding a bicycle, you would wear a shirt, so there would be no reason to shave your pits.

Not a smart move at all.

Phychomedics does indeed take fingernail scrapings, when i had my test, i noticed there was a little box on the form i had that said the entity requesting the drug test must get pre-approval for a fingernail test, probably it cost more or something, but apparently they can arrange to scrape your fingernails.

...somehow i would expect them to take toenail scrapings instead of fingernails since to get the same amount of material as they take for hair, they would need to pretty much scrape away a heck of a lot of fingernail...
