Just wanted to jump in and share my story. I just joined the site today.

I took my hair test 2 days ago and its for a custody case involving my son. My crazy ex-wife knew how much I liked the crazy funk and filed a motion for me to take a drug test and her and her lawyer requested a body hair sample. The judge said he would have not granted her motion were we not required anyway to take a drug test for the custody battle.

Anyway, I knew a test was coming but I did not think it would be a hair test. My last toke was October 1rst (66 days from test) and before that it averaged either once or twice a week. Nothing to crazy.... about a bowl each time.

To prepare, I did the macujo method on my body a total of 5 times spread out from Late October until the day of the test, doing it 2 times the day of the test. Furthermore, I washed my entire body with Paul Mitchell Shampoo 3 everyday the week of the test and intermitantly before that.

They took hair from my forearm to conduct the test. I know I adequately cleaned the area they took from, its just a question of whether it was enough or not.

I am now in the process of waiting and I am going nuts. Her lawyers wanted me to go to a testing center designated by them and since I sensed corruption the whole way (cuase I wouldn't put anything past this evil witch), I got another test done an hour before at another testing center of my choice. They took from my forearm as well.

Anyways, I should know on Monday or Tuesday. I believe in you Macujo and if I pass this test, I am voting you for president for the 2008 election.

Only two weeks clean, so that would mean only like a 1/4'' of the hair closest to the scalp was "clean". I don't think they even got that close to my scalp when they took the samples. My hair was probably 1 1/2'' long, they only took the last inch or so.

So in reality, the samples they did take were filthy. Sometimes as little as an 1/8 reggies per week to a 1/2 reggs per week, pretty much on a continuous basis with a few breaks in between.

If your a moderate to heavy user, several times a week to several times per day, you definately will benefit from a few redye treatments in addition to the MAC treatments.

However if you happen to be from African or Asian decent, your dark hair is a disadvantage (more melanin, more metabolites trapped in hair), and might require more work.

Mixed results are in...

Very light use of multiple "toxins." Blond, thin hair, weigh 140lbs, and have normal to high metabolism.

Hair test for promotion will take place before end of year.

33 days smoke free (smoked 3-4 times the week before) and 27 days from single session of cola before taking Hair confirm test, tested negative on all categories. Took Quest test one week later (walk-in collection center - taking no chances before the work test) and negative on all except cola which was 312pg, earning a Positive/Abnormal result. The hair confirm cutoff level is 500pg. Quest is 300pg for off topic toxins so be careful if your testing for those too. Did 2 MACs and 1 Toxin wash before first test. Did 1 MAC and 1 TW before Quest test.

Doing bleach and re-dye twice, MAC, going to tan booth, using Aloe Rid Treatment and will do another TW and add a Zydot day of the real test to hopefully eradicate any remaining trace amounts.

It seems it's good news for light on topic users and bad news for off topic users.

ok so heres my little preface...

i was called in by my impending employer for a drug screening last friday with four hours notice. i assumed it would be a piss test so i started chugging (i had quit smoking 25 days prior but wanted to be extra cautious). well, when i arrived at the clinic they referred me too, i found out that the doctor was not in and i would not be able to take the test because i needed a physical as well, and therefore needed the doctor. they scheduled me for another appointment on monday(today). yeah i was ecstatic i had a few extra days to prep until saturday morning when my aunt called my mother and said that i was pretty much in as far as the job was concerned as long as i passed the drug test. my aunt had previously worked for the company and told my mom that they had given her a hair test when she started.

now, im probably the first generation smoker in my family and of course they dont know that. being so my mom casually told me about the hair test and yadda yadda. i swear my jaw dropped and i bluntly told my mom shit theres no way im passing. from what i had heard about hair tests, they were almost impossible to pass and cover a longer history of drug use. i knew there were shampoos and such claiming to work for hair testing but i was pretty skeptical but it was worth a try i guess. my mom picked up a box of zydot for me from a health food store and told me to pray.

i did a lot more research when i got home from work that day and found this site, so really i had only a day and a half to prepare. i figured that my hair had already been bleached close to platinum blonde for the last three years, the only drawback being that its pretty long, about halfway down my back. im a female btw, age 21, natural hair is pretty light colored, with medium/average build, height, and metabolism. i was going to go for another bleach in combo with the Mac method until i saw jerry post that it would counter-act the purpose, so i did some more research on hair cuticle ph and decided to go with just a strong bleach before my zydot treatment because i found out that supposedly at a ph of 5.5 or greater the hair cuticle begins to open. so i stuck with basic chemicals and fried the crap out of my hair, i also cut my hair as short as i could stand to, a bit about my shoulders, just incase that would help.

so i was all good and nervous to go this morning, and lo and behold when i got to the clinic i fould out that i was only taking a darn piss test. wah wah waaaaahhh. of course that would happen to me. i was trying to drink a bit more water that morning just to be on the safe side but i didnt get to chug too much because i was too busy bleaching and shampooing for hours. well i was 28 days clean to the day after being a moderate smoker i guess?(maybe smoking a blunt 3-5 times a week before quitting) im pretty confident but what do you guys think with my history and stats? i should be good to go right?

I've been a contractor for last 2 years for a Fortune 500 company and my boss told me the other day that they want me to join the team. This of course includes a Hair Test from a local hospital. So i've got approx. 14 days before the actual test comes. I'm a heavy smoker around 1-2 grams per night of Ithaca NY finest (grade A shibby). I haven't smoked since I found out about the offer three days ago. I'm 6' tall, 175lbs, and have short 1-1.5 in. auburn (brown) hair.
I've combed through this Forum for the last few days and was just wandering if you could recommend a regiment for me. I am completely dedicated to doing whatever it takes to pass this test.
From what i've read the MAC method seems to be pretty successful especially when used correctly with other products. The redye technique with the 40 bleach seems to be a constant as well however, since the office knows of my new promotion I'm assuming they would be suspicious if I walked in with a different hair color. Is there something that I can substitute for the redye?
I'm just trying to get a laundry list around tonight so I can assure I will be prepared.
Heavy Smoker, dark hair, just quit smoking... I know I got a lot working against me but I have to pass this test.

I'm not as confused about the methods as I am the timing...
When do I start using the Mac method, if relaxers work for someone like me when do I use them? Am I correct that the Zydot should be reserved for the day of or should I be using it straight through to the day of the test.

Money isn't an issue... Like I said I just need to get in that 99 percentile for passing this test.

Well, since I'm sitting around, waiting to hear my test results, I figured I'd share my story...

My Stats:
Asian Female
36 yrs old
5'6"
140 lbs
average metabolism
long, straight, thick hair

I've been smoking for the past 18 years. I used to be a very heavy smoker for the first ten years or so, but in the 8, I've progressively slowed down. In the past two years, I'd say that I smoked *maybe* 4-5 times a year. The last time I smoked was on Jan 11/08. I took the hair test on March 5/08 so in all, I'd been clean for 54 days. Before Jan 11, I was in Amsterdam for a couple of days over Christmas '07. Before that, I think I smoked once or twice in October/07. Before that, I smoked once in July/07 and once in May/07.

I recently got a job offer at a Fortune 500 company. I was given 24 hrs to report for a drug test. When I called the lab, they told me that it would be a urine test but surprise surprise, when I got there, it was a hair test. I couldn't go back the next day because I had to go out of town.

Sooo... I took the test without any aids or preparation. I was told by the technician at the testing facility that short of "a miracle" (her words), I'm almost guaranteed to test positive. I'm assuming that the test will come back positive, but based on what I've read in this thread, it sounds like it's a complete crap shoot. There seem to be people on here with similar stats who passed with no problems. Others had been clean for much longer, did all the washes and still tested positive.

The testing facility told me that I'd find out in 2 days (TODAY!). I'll update once I get the results.
