Hi,

I've read quite a few threads here and firstly wanted say thank you to all the people that are helping others in the face of this ridiculous test. I wanted to follow the methods (Mac, Aloe, Zydot, Dye etc.) but I’m seeking more info before I dive in.

I'm 21, 6'2 175lbs and I go to the gym regularly (not sure if this has any bearing on the hair test). I also have thick, brown, relatively fast growing hair. They could test me anytime from mid-December to early January, depending upon when the employer wants to interview me.

I stopped smoking this past weekend when the prospect of a phenomenal job came up. I have smoked a joint with some friends most days for the past two months. I have longish hair which I’d rather not cut/color/singe/completely screw up my hair and scalp only to fail the test. However, it seems that if I want to be safe I would have to bleach, dye, cut etc. – is this so? Should I buy zydot, toxin wash and start “mac-ing” it now? I’m a little confused, so any regiment that could be recommended would be greatly appreciated.

Nobody really want s to fry their hair.... but thats when the decision is made about how much you want this job. Your hair is going to be damaged if you treat it with mac or bleach/redye, because thats pretty much what you want to do. Damaging it is what allows the metabolites to be "set free"! If you really want this job, you will probably have to mac a few times and do a bleach/redye (maybe twice). I only bleached 3 inches from the roots up to save my ends....

OK. That's what I figured - I assume that a haircut would also be advisable - or is the redye, bleach and mac enough?

How long is your hair? They usually test 1.5-2 inches from the scalp up.

That is not my understanding of it. In order to test back 90 days, they're going to want to test the newest inch and a half, not the oldest hair. I realize most testing facilities will just test the entire hair, but I don't think they specifically target the oldest hair.

Thats what I'm saying.... from the scalp up. Meaning the new hair from the scalp.... up the hair shaft. I have never heard of any place testing more that 1-2 inches..... from what I understand, the metabolites start to break down in the hair after 90 days.

I've been letting it grow for a while, so its about 5 inches give or take a bit I'm pretty sure it all has thc in it...I guess it's time to go back to short.
