Here are the stats:

light smoker (6-7 hits per week)
Hair length at time of test should be--1 1/4 inch--my hair grows really fast
last smoked November 8 only 1 hit: before that Nov. 1 only 1 hit again.
Cut hair to half inch on Nov. 21
Test on December 24 (approx. 55 days smoke free)
MAcd once aday since December 7 and will continue
Bleach and redye on Monday Dec 10 (dyed twice)
Bleach and redye for 2nd time today Dec 16 ( currently have bleach on my head while typing)
Use Aloe rid shampoo ( generic and has Proplyn Glycol) daily w/ PM3
Shaved body hair so they have to take head hair, which they should
Bought Test'n shampoo($88 f***) and will use the day of the test (couldn't find zydot)

Questions:

Should I bleach and re-dye for a third time? I would have time for it, however, I don't really want to. My worry is that it will be a dead giveaway if my hair is that damaged.

Can I condition my hair? I really want to!

What else should I do?

What are my chances?


I will have to put the green goblin to rest for good from here on out! Too much stress yet too much fun.

Take a breath and relax. Even at the speed which your hair grows they can still only go back around 30 days which means they can only test back about that far. Just MAKE SURE to not look super nervous at the testing and for god's sake don't just shave your head because that looks hella suspicious. So no more smoking AT ALL, cut your hair to NO SHORTER than 3/4 in. the day of testing, and you should be on the clear. Even if the test is positive there is a good chance your employer will give you a second chance and retest in 3 months.

Extra tip: Cannabaniods are stored in fat cells. When fat is burned they are released. To give yourself more of a chance of passing take care to exert yourself as little as possible and even (though it isn't the healthiest thing but hey neither is unemployment) gain weight by eating fatty food to create more cells that DON'T have cannabanoids in them so if you do burn fat it will lessen the chances that cannabanoid cells are being burned.

Hair test go back 90 days not 30 days. And NO the employer will not give me a restest in 3 months. Also I should not cut my hair that short that makes no sense. They need 1 1/2 inches. Also fat cells have absolutely nothing to do with your hair.

Someone who actually know about hair tests should reply--no offense.

Now that was funny. Just for the record, they can go back up to 1 & 1/2 inches which is about 90 days because your hair grows about 1/2 inch per month (there is a table with exact grow rates for each type of body hair in one of the stickies). Ashlez the fat storage of THC really doesn't have much to do with hair testing because if you stop smoking or using then in about 3-5 days the body stops depositing THC metabolites into the hair.

Herewego I would hate to say yeah I think you're safe and you don't need a 3rd bleach and dye and then have you fail. Some people go in there with their scalps raw and I don't think anyone has ever been called out on it. It isn't illegal to bleach or dye your hair so
you know it is sometimes better to play it safe than sorry. If you want to condition your hair I don't think 1 time would hurt but don't do it much more than that. You are trying to damage your hair and penetrate to the core and that little bit of residue from the conditioner might block your efforts or it might "close" back up some of the damage. You've got 6 more days so just tough it out.

Thanks for the reply. Do you think they will take my hair even though it will be just shy of 1 1/2 " ? I won't have any body hair for them to take. From what I have read they most likely will.

And what are my chances? After reading all of these posts I think I have a pretty good shot.

Have you heard anything about this Test'n shampoo. I hope it does something. Although I feel it is the bleach/redye that really does the trick. Maccujoing couldn't hurt either.

And I have decided to go for the third bleach/redye and I am going to do it tomorrow which will be 5 days before my test. Is that Ok or should I do it a little closer to my test time?


I really need to pass this thing so of you have any other advice please let me know and I promise to post my results.

90 days... its funny even on the company website it states can only accurately date back 30 days.. i wonder why they allow a chance of error on peoples carrears..
