Hello. I'm in a bit of a pinch and I'm quite paranoid. I've been a very 'good boy' my entire life. I'm 36 years old and had never used marijuana until October of 2007. I took two hits or drag off a joint and didn't feel a thing. Not sure if it was because I'm a big guy or because I didn't actually get any of the marijuana in my lungs (I'm not a smoker either). Then on New Years eve I attempted to roll a joint from a 'bud' that someone gave me. I failed miserably as it was dry (I was told later it was meant to be used in a bowl???).

I'm now looking at changing jobs and have been given an offer. They do a hair follicle test.

Two puffs in October 2007.
One puff December 31st 2007 (possibly failed attempt).

These are my only two instances of marijuana use.

Hair follicle test coming up probably the week of Feb 28 2008.

Am I in trouble or what???????

Sound's like you've got absolutely nothing to worry about since you didn't really ingest the marijuana on either account. You need to at least 3 sucessful attempts at smoking marijuana in the past 90 days in order to be the slightest bit worried.

Thanks. That makes me feel a little better.
I'm not sure if the attempts were 'successful' or not. All I know is that I really didnt 'feel' anything the first time and the second I thought I felt a little bit of a buzz but it might have been the wine too! Anyway the events are both very isolated. Is there a way to go to a lab and just tell them I want a hair follicle test for my own knowledge (I dont care how much it costs). I dont have time to wait for a home test to be sent in.

Others please respond as well, the more ppl telling me I'm ok the better I feel. Regardless I'll be sure and post the results of the test here.

You can walk into any testing center and order your own hair test. It will run about 100 bucks for a 5 panel(pot, coke, meth, opiates, pcp). It takes 3 business days or so to get back the results.

You are fine, three hits in 90 days will not show up.

i think it will be okay. but if you have no other history of marijuana use like you say, maybe you should cut your head hair short and let them take body hair. somebody correct me if i'm wrong, but the body hair should definitiely be clean as it grows slower than head hair.

One session in 90 days, which it will be when he tests, is not going to show up.

Don't trim your head hair, there is no need.

What about the New year's eve episode. That hasn't even been 30 days yet. My only hope there is that it was so dry that it didn't make inhalable smoke... please forgive im not sure how to describe all of this and I dont know the terms.


Anyway, I did go by a Lab today and did a hair follicle with 'myself' as the employer. He said I'd have the results by Wednesday the 29th. If it comes back ok then I'll proceed forward and go through the process with my new potential employer.

OK Jerry, I received the results from my lab test that I had done personally. They were negative. The test was done from head hair.

I am now going to do the folicle test for the company I wish to work for. I have learned that they pull the hair from the chest. Any issues you can forsee here?

I'm a bit anxious now that I learned they take the hair from the chest.

Any worries for me sir?
