I applied for a job and might be getting it but will have to take a hair drug test. I was thinking about going to one of those sites that do the test for you privately. I think you just send in a sample of your hair and and they run the test and let you know in 3-5 business days. Has any one ever done this or does anyone have any good advice or suggestions on this matter. I just wanted to check here first before i got to in to a website.

*(Edit) I am not a heavy smoker and the last time i smoked was days before new years. But i have pretty long hair and don't want to cut it. The test might be about a week to 2 weeks from now, what should i do? please help

Why not just go to a local testing center?

Thanks for the reply. Does it go on record or anything like that if i fail? I would like to check before the company does just to be safe. And how much would a local test center charge if i did?

I just thought that they would keep this kind of stuff on record for some reason. Like say i took the test own my own and failed then took it to get a job and it shows on record or in the system or something that i have recently or in the past took a drug test and failed, know what i mean?
