Hi guys and gals,

It seems that I am floating in the same boat as many of the rest of you. Most of the people on here freaking out about a hair test seem to be very light users compared to myself, so I am wondering if i'm just pissing in the wind (though I wish this dealt with pee and not hair) and trashing my hair.

MJ usage: Daily, for years, including daily for the last 90 days.
Budget: eating ramen noodles and buttered bread

In the last 90 days (and quite sometime before that) i've smoked at least a bowl a day, often much more. It is my medicine. Medicine that I am not legally allowed to use though. Hell, I can't think of one person that couldnt benefit from marijuana use. Stress is a bitch, amongst many other ailments cannabis can cure. But anyway, my tolerance level is through the roof.

I have been informed that I must take a hair test by the end of next week, Feb. 15th. This came as a surprise today.

My predicament and questions....

Since I just have 8 days before I must take the test, is it necessary to quit smoking or would it be useless due to the time it takes to stop pumping out the thc, and god knows i have plenty of it to pump?

I plan to bleach, redye, bleach, redye. I can afford this in the form of do it yourself burn the hell out of your head kits only. During the next 8 days, should I start that now, and bleach/redye every 3 or so days, or wait until the day before and do it twice or 3 times? btw, I am kinda scared my hair will all fall out or be totally fried. any assurance here will help.

Because of my financial situation and the inability to budget for the best products (toxin wash, afterburner, etc) due to the surprise attack, what is the best option available for that final deep cleaning hoorah? Toothpaste? I will have about 35 total dollars left over after the bleach and dye kits.

My pregnant wife and 2 yr old son are hoping I pass, and I am pretty much freaking out. I hate the system and am doing what I can to remove myself from that, but as for now, I need this job.

Is there something I can do that I am overlooking? I know the mac method is useless for my tolerance level. Should I just keep smoking and begin walking? Given the scenario, what are my chances?

Even though I can understand your consideration for keeping on smoking, why would you? My advice, stop smoking...do the 2 bleach and re-dyes...also, spend $9.00 on a at home perm or hair relaxer (I've gotten 2 applications out of one package and it's scientifically proven to help). On top of that, I would dump another $10 on T-Gel shampoo, and start using that every day.

Here's the deal...you have a wife, child, and another on the way. Sit on your stash and don't give in. You should be doing whatever it takes at this point to pass. Both you and I have read a number of stories of people like yourself who have passed in this amount of time (and yes, just as many have failed).

Also get yourself some baking soda for $2, and simply mix with water and apply prior to and/or durring bleach/re-dye process. This should help the chemicals penetrate the shaft and deteriorate THC metabolites.

All I'm saying, and others would agree, you need to do whatever you can. In the end, you may pass or you may fail, but one thing's for sure, you should at least go into it knowing you did absolutely everything possible to pass.

Besides, if you fail, that's when you may need your stash the most...but don't cop out now by thinking you've got too little time...otherwise, you might as well do nothing and fail.

I believe you can pass...just don't cop out.

you NEED Toxin Wash or Zydot. if you get canned, you will not be clean to piss on 30, if you are clean by then. if you pass this test, you are in the clear...with a job!!!!

you may want to seek Jerry G but here's what I would do if I didn't go with my first paragraph. got to the store and find any shampoo containing propylene glycol. make sure it is one of the top ingredients on the bottle. you are sure to find these in the chlorine remover shampoos. bleach as soon as you can...like today. after bleaching, rinse it out and shampoo for 10 minutes. do it again. then dye your hair. I would go a little darker as it will fade with the next step. baking soda paste for 10 minutes each morning. followed by shampooing for 10 minutes. never ever condition. tough it out by just combing. you will have to have a clean pillow case each night. do not wear anything or let your hair touch anything. the night before the test bleach and redye with the same method.

your chances are not great if you don't Toxin Wash or Zydot. especially considering it will still grow from your scalp for 14 days out. Zydot would hit that on the test day. I don't do percentages. Jerry G might give you one.

I would do all I could to get Toxin and/or Zydot. That would be your best chance with the bleachings. Good luck.

thebeckness speaks the truth, has a nice plan. One thing I may recommend. Doing all that much radical treatment will leave your hair BONED! I would recommend possibly going ahead and using some conditioner...you CAN find conditioner with PG in it for the win. Trust me your hair will be dryer than dry ...Mcdry. And using Zydot the day of the test should absolutely be a priority. I realize you are on a budget but several people have shown that Zydot DOES reduce metabolite levels. (Not enough to use as a standalone for heavy users however!)

Also....if you know you're going to be taking a test...QUIT SMOKING...jeez.

Anyone will tell you the longer you have clean the better chances you'll have.
