Well, I know there are a million threads on hair testing, but I haven't really seen a succinct answer to this specific question..

If I smoked about 2 weeks ago (Super bowl sunday), and that is the one and only time in many years.. will I pass a hair test in a few weeks? Is one session of 3 or 4 tokes off a joint enough to fail me?

This question has been answered "succinctly" many times, but I'll do it again.

You will pass the test, the cutoff level is approximately 3 sessions in a 90 day period...

Hi, I'm back, just wanted to follow up, and perhaps get a little more assurance..

Please correct me if I'm wrong, I really do not want to lose this job.. here are the facts again, with a little additional data..

Haven't smoked in years, so hair is perfectly clean, then, 22 days ago, I took 3 hits off of a joint, just plain old stuff, nothing special..

As it stands, the longest sections of my hair is just a bit over 1.5 inches.. so that time period will surely be sampled..

My test is tomorrow, based on what I have stated, is this pretty much a guaranteed pass? Will I even have anything to worry about at all?

Like I said, I have 90 days of hair up there (1.5"), and only a miniscule amount of smoking, 3 tokes 22 days ago..

Thank you again, like I said, just looking for a bit of assurance, and if I have anything to worry about.. I want to sleep well tonight.

Oh man, I think I screwed myself good!!!!!!!!

I didnt want to take any chances, and I was told that if it your head hair wasn't long enough, they would take hair from my underarm.. well, with this in mind, I got a haircut before I went in, effectively removing a lot of the good clean hair.. I thought that because my hair was so short, they would have to pull hair from my underarm...

Well that made things worse because they STILL took only samples from my head, but they did it from about 5 different spots

SO this morning I had a good inch and a 1/4 clean hair and 1/2 inch not so clean hair... then when they took the sample, I had probably 1/2 inch clean and 1/2 inch not clean.. man, this sucks!


I am just hoping that there is still a chance that the level is so low that is passes, but it will be effectively 5 times higher than if I wouldn't have cut me hair to begin with...

I found this on Norml's website:

Thank you both, I will definitely post back when I hear something, I already have a tentative start date for the job.. I assume if I don't hear anything by Monday (sample was taken Tuesday), I should be good to go and can give notice at the current job.. I hate to call and ask the outcome
