Default Pre-surgery blood work. Do they look for THC?

I need abdominal surgery to repair a problem with my colon. I have to get blood tests done tomorrow for what is called "pre-surgery testing". Do they look for THC for any reason? I really need this surgery so I'm hoping this won't delay things in some way.

Anyone with recent experioence with this?

Regards.
Joe

I doubt that they are doing a tox screen on your blood unless you gave them reason (i.e.: needle marks in the arm, history of drug abuse/overdoses, etc.). Most pre-operative blood work is looking for hepatitus, HIV, etc... They are also getting a blood type so if, in the event things don't go as planned, they can have the right type of blood available to give you.

To confirm and have it recorded in case someone else like me comes looking, they did not screen for THC in my pre-surgery blood test. Because if they did, they would have found almost 30 years of smoking weed!! I'm doing a few bongs as we speak.

Regards.

Blood only stores THC for a few days. Since THC isn't water soluble it just gets stored in your fat, and not in your blood.

Also, even if they found THC, there wouldn't be any real reason to have delayed a surgery for it.
