hi all, i've been reading up on the forums for a few days now and i've found the site to have some very helpful, insightful information.

here's my situation...

i've been a daily smoker (anywhere from 1 to many bowls a day) for about 5 years. at the beginning of february 08, i cut back to smoking about 3 times a week. i stopped completely just 1 week ago, on 2/21/08. i'm 23 y/o, 6 ft tall, pretty slim at about 160 lbs, brown hair about 1 inch long. my hair test will most likely be towards mid to late march, making my time clean somewhere between 3 and 5 weeks.

i've bought herbal cleanse 7 day comprehensive system to clean out my system and started the system today, which consists of 8 pills taken daily for 7 days, drinking plenty of water with them. my thought is that this will clean my system out, and any new hair growth will not contain THC. is this correct??

i also purchased nexxus aloe rid shampoo and have not used it yet. i plan on shaving my entire body except my head and eyebrows before the test. what else should i do to increase my chances of passing the test???

the other thing i have comtemplated is having my identical twin brother who does not smoke at all go in for me...but his hair is much longer than mine and he doesnt look exactly like me....i'd have to convince him to do this, however, as he might not be willing to do it for moral reasons.

Ok, well first off, evidence of any particular session will appear in hair above the scalp after 7-14 days. This means that most likely the herbal cleanse product you bought will have absolutely no impact on hair detection.

Yes, THC is stored in your fat cells for upwards of 30 days after smoking. It would stand to reason that over this time, as it's released from storage and enters the bloodstream feeding your hair, you would be growing dirty hair.

However, while this is somewhat true, the THC released from your fat cells should not be significant enough to register above the cut-off for detection in hair. It is only durring an actual session that you saturate your bloodstream with a high enough level of THC metabolites to be detected in hair growth.

Unfortunately as well, the Nexus Aloe Rid shampoo has now been disproven as a significantly effect agent for cleansing metabolite levels in the hair shaft. I used it up until I read that it was ineffective. I would suggest quickly switching to a shampoo that contains Propylene Glycol, a proven chemical that actively degrades metabolite levels. My favorite would be Neutrogena T-Gel, which includes this as a main ingredient.

I hear what you're saying about the whole shave except for eyebrows and head-hair, but since your head hair is less than the 1 1/4" minimum required specimin, you may be setting yourself up for automatic failure. The word is that if you have insufficient hair (especially if you are mysteriously shaved everywhere else) they will simply fail you without so much as taking a snip. You should be carefull about that approach as I wouldn't recommend it.

As for your brother...believe me, I've had lots of thoughts about pulling something like that off...but in the end, they were just thoughts...leave him out of it. If something were to go wrong, you both would be in serious trouble! No point in ruining two lives.

So in the end, I would research Jerry G.'s bleach/redye hardcore method (for people with little time) and apply to head/arm-pit hair; trim all other hair to 1/4"..and forget everything else.
