I am a college student and just received an offer for a summer internship with a big corporation in my hometown that I am very excited about. Unfortunately (perhaps fortunately) they also let me know that I will be taking a hair drug test in my first week on the job. Of course, I've stopped smoking and I am willing to continue not smoking through the summer in order to keep the job. Before I stopped smoking I probably smoked 4 to 5 times a week with my roommate. I am a 5'8" male with blonde hair, high metabolism, and in good health etc. I've looked through everyone else's stories, etc and I am feeling alright about my drug test but would just like a little help if possible.

Here are some important dates that I have to think about:

January 14th - Cut hair to 3/8" and it is now about 1" to 1 1/4" long

February 13th - Got job offer/drug test warning and stopped smoking

May 19th - First day on the job, will get tested sometime this week

This window (Feb 13th - May 19th) gives me a good 90 days of not smoking. My current plan is to cut my hair this week (week of March 3, 3 weeks of not smoking) to 1/4 or 3/8 of an inch in order to get rid of the "contaminated" hair. I will probably get that Nexxus Aloe Rid Shampoo just for good measure. Is cutting and shampooing enough? Should I still try the Macujo method? If so, when? Or am I just being paranoid? Any other recommendations?

it sounds like you are OK since you were able to cut your hair real short, allowing ~90+ days of clean time for re-growth; in other words, it sounds like all your "contaminated" hair is gone.

I am in the same boat as you in terms of "clean time," although my hair is longer (I am female) so I am taking all sorts of precautions because I am still so scared of this. It is less than 2 wks till T-day for me. So far, I've Mac'ed 3x and begun washing daily with T-gel and PM3. I've ordered a bottle of Zydot and plan on a bleach and re-dye, and also plan on using the Mac method + baking soda a few more times. I am thinking about ordering Toxing Wash too. I'm pretty paranoid about this, but enough about me...

I am not an expert on this (except for obsessively compulsively reading these forums) but it sounds like you will be just fine although you could do the vinegar/clean and clear/tide or baking soda just in case you think you still have some "contaminated" hair in there. best of luck!

Not sure where people who've done their homework keep getting this wrong (which compounds the spread of misinformation). Apart from maybe doing something for you mentally, the Aloe Rid does nothing for you biologically/chemically.

Don't waste your money, get yourself something with Propylene Glycol in it instead.

Thanks, Mastese, unfortunately I too ordered Aloe Rid before I researched it thoroughly. (further proof I am too freaked out about this; I'll try just about anything!) One of the online detox companies urges customers to buy it along with their product.

When I first found out about the test (before finding this forum) I ordered a really expensive ($129) product for test day as well; the ingredients aren't listed at all so I have no idea what it even does. What a waste!

On that note, does anyone know what is in Toxin wash? is that a high pg shampoo? I don't want to unnecessarily spend more $.

The igredients were posted in another thread just recently...do a search and you will find your answer.

Regardless, TW gets the Jerry G. Seal of Approval, which means that even if it contained pig #@&!, I would highly consider using it.

If you have Toxin Wash use it. It does not contain PG, but it it a very strong clarifying shampoo.(what the useful ingredient is I don't know)

I used it alone, and it cut my levels in half(zydot was almost as effective alone as well). When used in conjunction with Zydot and bleaching/redying, I passed with flying colors.

I use neutrogena t-gel, as it worked for me (recognized as one of the most toxic shampoos on Earth); others may defer to something else.

Thanks, Jerry G. Between the T-gel, Toxin Wash, Zydot, bleach/redye, and of course my clean time, I finally am starting to feel OK about this thing. Like everyone else on this forum, it is extremely important I pass!

Oh, and a while ago I mentioned taking my own test. Well it turns out you can't just go in to the collection facility for a private test (that is what the lady said to me) which would mean I could only do the test you send away for... I decided not to do that because I am concerned that the home test is not exactly the same as the real test I will undergo, so I'd rather spend the money on extra treatments. probably should have just done it anyway at this point I saw your original thread where you posted all of your own test results, and I just wanted to say THANKS for doing that, that was extremely helpful!

goldfish, sounds like your program is solid. Combined with clean time I have no doubt you will pass without a hitch.
