Right ,I am using the aloe rid treatment I was using the T/sal bc I thought that might open the hair shaft to help the aloe rid tx to help clean better and thought that might be safer than using the clean and clear to open the shaft to assist the aloe rid. So I will just use the aloe rid as directed then just thought if I could open the shaft first might have better results. SO will do what you have advised. You think I should bleach and redye 2x same day then or wait a day in between. So you advise no more macs in between?

The baking soda, doesn't that close the hair shaft since it is considered a base? how does this help. I am all for opening the shaft to assist the aloe rid tx but confused at how the baking soda aids the process. Do you rinse the baking soda out b4 the aloe tx or zydot or apply on top.

You are confused, basics open the cuticle, acids close the cuticle. That's why I don't like mixing the Mac with bleaching and redying(vinegar is an acid).

Rinse out the baking soda, then treat.

Hey Jerry received 4 5 oz bottles of aloe rid treatment thank goodness so will be starting tx with baking soda paste(just mix baking soda with water right?) then rinse then aloe rid. about 4-5 sessions I have enough for. Did my first bleach and redye yesterday morning burned a little, hair is little bit lighter but I dont feel confindent that will be enough even though I plan to repeat at least 3 times ( as many as I can that is safe) once a day?
My question is should I also use a straightening kit? will that help or hurt from what I am reading it will help just dont want to be bald.
Employer called and I need to schedule test I havent called back yet trying to stall I think I have to make the appt next week at the latest giving me about 6-7 days and I want to make the best of them.

Is mac counter productive to do along side everything else I ask bc I have a ton of the supplies and they are opened. Also the 40 developer has got water, hydrogen peroxide, alcohol, salicylic acid, phosphoric acid, etidronic acid, disodium phosphate with all that acid is it able to penetrate the hair shaft? and I got the new color to mix with it has PG, ammonia, edta methayparaban just to name a few so I feel confindent that this will definately help but it does call for 40 I couldnt find one that called for 20 is that ok is 40 just stronger? I used the 40 straight and left in my hair for 1 hour and my hair was lighter brown but not white. Does it always have to hurt to work I felt mild burning only and I used a lot.

One last question: when you were able to pass your test did you have any clean time or did you smoke up until the day? I have gone 2 days now but its killing me cuze I have it very close just feel like if I quit it makes no difference bc new hair is dirty anyway at least for a week which is all I got anyway.

Any insight?

Ok did first real bleach and redye today omg my scalp is raw. I left in for 45 minutes burned the whole time. Hair finally changed texture feels like straw woo hooo and tangles easily which is a good sign of damage. Made baking soda paste gawd that is a bitch for long hair. Sitting with aloe rid treatment now feels much better on scalp Last smoke session was morning of 4-20-08 and I didnt plan on quitting but after doing research that thc stays in the blood for a few days I am hoping my new growth from now on is clean. I haven't gone more than 24 hours in 10 years and am one of those people that feel I am going through all this to pass the test I shouldn't have to quit. But here is the reality. It doesn't make sense to keep toking adding more thc to the hair you are trying to rid it of. I wish I had more clean time and the sad part is 2 months ago when I started my job they told me I would be hair tested anytime in the future. Now the future has come and I really want to keep this job, it's hard to find a job you actually enjoy. I am such a 5 star employee never missed a day just got promoted and shouldn't have to be tested dammit. Still haven't called to schedule test but will call monday bc I am ready to get this shit over with. Going to do a second bleach and dye on Friday or Sat with aloe tx in meantime and Zydot day before and day of just hoping one bottle per tx is enough to cover whole head adquatley.

I really want to smoke but its real stupid to go through all this just to fail bc I couldn't stop smoking btw all these methods are much easier said that done especially if you have long hair. Good thing I have the liberty of scheduling the test want to wait as long as possible for the advantage of treating my hair as many times as possible but anxious to stop this vigorous regime and get back to my life. Will let everyone know how I did soon as I can.

Ok so after bleach and redye 3 days ago have done 3 treatments with baking soda and aloe rid with 3rd being today. I work third shift came home and put baking soda paste in hair and accidently feel asleep oh gawd woke up 2 hours later with hair as hard as a f'ing rock. When I rinsed hair felt so awful I didn't know what to do. Did aloe rid for 1 hour and just rinsed, hair is such a hot tanged dry mess so used vo5 conditioner just so I can comb it (still in a towel now and still very dry) I am going to bleach today and dye to stage 10 bright blonde (natural hair is stage 4 with 1 being black) then last aloe rid tx tomorrow and bleach sunday morning and dye back to dark brown sunday night right b4 work. I may not have any hair at that point. My question is does the conditioner disrupt anything I am trying to accomplish here as I am going to sallys to get more bleach to mix with 40 today (using a 20 for redye) and she suggested last time to get the professional conditoner packet (real cheap) as my hair would be really dry from the bleach I didnt but want to this time. I am wondering is that ok to use after all is said and done sunday bc so far no one at work can tell but I cannot go into work looking like a dang horse (btw have the hair test on wednesday the 30th) still plan on using the zydot day of test. Is my plan ok also plan on bleach and redye once more after sunday before test. Gawd I dont want to have to retest either due to the majorly damaged hair as my hair was fine to begin with. Please any help anyone, Jerry if you have time.
