The bland truth is that I choose to smoke pot and it just excluded me from a 60k job with good benefits. It was a bump in the road and an exercise in the futility of fooling the hair test.
But it’s a good thing, I am too old for a steady job. A few more years of 9 to 5 and I will die without a soul. The freeways and numbers will eat it and the fitting in it takes to make it in a corporate culture will have me daily stifling myself, and it will feel like putting cigarette butts out on my arm.
But 60k just grew wings and flew out of my life. That’s a lotta money.
When I’m broke, which is not far off, and bumping my head on something, I will think of that money and that lifestyle and I will envy it in whatever my current dilemma and imagine that I would be better off if I did not smoke pot.
Bump in the road, wasted time….things only the un or under-employed can take in stride.
But later…I wonder about the phone call from the Healthworks physician and how cagey she was and how she conned me into admitting that I had smoked pot once over the phone. Stupid stupid stupid. The company is called Psychemedics , they psyched me out. I think the evidence was inconclusive and she played head games with me until I admitted that I had smoked pot once. Just for the record, I followed Growmans advice on the Mucojo and the “Hair Mudd”. In the previous week, through meetings and interviews that I thought may send me to the physical exam, I used All Clear, Zyodot, Muccujoed until My neck pealed like a sunburn and in the end nothing worked.
I think maybe the information that they test for masking products is close to true. I think it was masked enough to cast a reasonable doubt, so they put a top psychologist from Psychemed on the phone and she conned me into a confession. End of story.
If I’m correct in this hypothesis, if it happens to you, say nothing. Ask only that they fax or mail the report to you and you will review it with your physician.

I have determined that I was more upset about NOT fooling them than not getting the job.
