I'm taking my test either late this week, or early next week.

I'm a very light smoker. Only about 4 or 5 times since January, with my last smoke on February 21st. My hair grows fast, and I had it cut down to 1/2 inch about 45 days after my last smoke. Its now been 2 months, and my hair is pretty close to 1 inch long.

I figure that the haircut was probably enough to remove anything from my hair, but I'm going to take a couple precautions to be sure. I'm planning on doing a few washes with Paul Mitchell III and baking soda paste, and I'm going to do a Zydot treatment on the day of the test as an extra piece of insurance.

Hopefully this is good enough...I'll be sure to post results as soon as they're in.

Update on my situation:

My test is Friday. I've been doing a Baking Soda Paste/PM3 wash on my hair and pits, and trimmed most of my body hair to be short, but not short enough to look obvious at all.

I think I should be fine on the length of my hair (about 3/4 of an inch all around, maybe a bit closer to 1 inch). I have thin hair, but it is very dense. I'd be surprised if they tried to use body hair.

I'm planning on continuing my current treatment, and adding in a full Zydot treatment on the day of the test. My research tells me I should be fine (due to the length of my hair combined with my long clean time and very rare smoking history), but I'm still really really worried.

Does anyone think I should be doing more at this point, or should I be fine?

Just another update, incase anyone is interested in my story or is in a similar situation:

Day of the test today. Woke up and did one last Baking Soda/PM3 wash when I woke up. Then did a Baking Soda wash and a full Zydot treatment just before I went to my test.

The collector saw how short my hair was and asked if she could take it from my underarms or legs. I told her I'm not a very hairy guy, and she said she'd take it from my head, but I'd have a big bald spot. I told her its fine...I'll get a haircut.

She took about 3/4 of an inch of hair. Seeing as its been 64 days since my last smoke, and 3/4 of an inch should give about 45 days of history (give or take a few, since theres still stubble on my scalp), I figure I should be in the clear. The Zydot is giving me a little extra encouragement, too. Its going to be tough not to be nervous for the next few days while I await my results, but my research tells me I should have a great new job in a few days.
