I have a pre-employment test within the next week or so. I'm not entirely sure what type it is, but due to the nature of the job, it is likely going to be hair. About me: 6' 1", dark brown hair Smoking history: Clean for approximately 50 days. before smoked between 4-5 times total in Feb. and early March. Last time I smoked before that was a couple times every other week back in Sep-Nov. Hair: On my head it is just over 0.5" which is normal for me. Since I doubt they will take it from there, I trimmed my arm, leg and body hair really short. Hopefully it will grow out a bit by the time of the test, but I'm really not that hairy generally. So I plan on treating my arm pits, which would likely go back farther. 1) baking soda paste, wash out with Paul Mitchell III (if this stuff is useless, let me know), everyday 2) Dye with body hair bleach (ingredients below) that I read one other person had success with, re-dye with dark color (haven't bought this yet). I plan on doing this twice. Washing the dye out with the Paul Mitchell III 3) Day of: baking soda paste, clarifying shampoo, and zydot day of test. When I find for sure that it's a hair test I will likely buy toxin wash and use it instead of PM III for peace of mind. ingredients for body hair bleach, which will hopefully help in avoiding skin damage under arms: Cream: Water; Hydrogen Peroxide; Glyceryl Stearate; Isopropyl Myristate; Stearyl Stearate; Propylene Glycol; Stearic Acid; Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine; Phosphoric Acid. Accelerator: Ammonium Bicarbonate Last edited by d00d : 04-29-2008 at 08:20 PM.

I used 40 volume under my arms. Other than that, your plan looks fine.

Quick update for posterity. Scrapped the idea of using body hair bleach. Might as well err on the side of caution. Picked up 40 vol creme developer and the bleach which is also a cream. I think the Clairol cream version is like an overpriced version of the powder. Treated the armpits with it, and surprisingly the irritation wasn't too terrible. The chemical smell was pretty strong, and I walked around flapping like a chicken for 30 minutes, but no damage to the skin or anything, I suppose everyone reacts differently. Washed this out with PM3. Used 30 vol clear developer and a dye that was also a cream. Smells really heavily like ammonia. Washed out again with PM3. Again not much irritation. Left a bit of a stain on my skin, so got a dye-skin remover from the beauty store and it took it right off. Still doing a baking soda paste, with a PM3 wash out daily. Plan on doing two more bleach/redyes. My TW and zydot should be here by the end of the week, so I'll probably wait for the TW at least to get here before bleaching again. I am not going to bother with mac method.

Another quick update. After two armpit bleach/redyes and using toxin wash and buying Zydot (amongst other things), I finally find out today that I am actually taking a URINE test. Thank God. I am really only updating this thread to say that if you know you have a test of some sort in the future, go ahead and start now doing SOMETHING. It will really ease your mind, and after you gather supplies and start going to town on your hair the whole thing will seem less absurd and more a part of your daily routine. I think everyone's first reaction upon reading Jerry G's method is, "eesh, there's got to be an easier way." But getting started is the hardest part. Stay positive and try to keep a sense of humor as you look at your blonde armpits in the mirror. ![]() Thanks to everyone on the site.
