Background: Out of the blue found out the client at the company I work for wants a hair test. I already passed the urine test to get in a long time ago, had no idea they would pop a hair test on me out of the blue, have been working there 6 years. They popped the hair test on everybody there that would be working at the client site. I had quit smoking about a week and a half before I found out, and have managed to delay getting the test done for another couple weeks to try and put it off as long as possible without getting suspicious. So far have been completely clear for over 3 weeks. Daily smoker of maybe 2-3 hits of good bud pretty much the entire time before that. Heavy male, inactive, 260 lbs, 6'1. Hair is medium brown, trimmed to 1 1/2 inches on top. I have been using Macujo method daily for past week. Vinegar soak 15 minutes, clean and clear (pink, foaming, 2% salicylic acid), soak in another 15 minutes, then follow with tide rinse (the no perfume / dye type). Found some stuff at the local pharmacy that had both of the contents here that have been posted about - 3 % salicylic acid and propylene glycol, apparently made for psoriasis, have replaced regular shampoo with that and have used it steadily over past week. Hair seemed medium thickness before starting treatment, now hair seems to look very thin in mirror. Bought two packs of Zydot, will use the day before the test and the day of the test. What are my chances of success this week? I'm worried that if I try the bleach and redye method people I work with will get suspicious, as I've always had close to the exact same haircut and color since I've worked there. Should I try and stall another week to keep redoing the Macujo method? I'm freaking out as I desperately want to keep this job. Also is it worth ordering any kind of testing kit to test yourself before taking the test? The test is being taken by Quest. Ingredients on the psoriasis shampoo: 3 % salicylic acid ammonium lauryl sulfate, cocmidopropyl betaine, coc-glucoside and glyceryle oleate, kukui (aleurites moluccana) nut oil, lauryl glucoside, PEG-150 pentaerythrityl tetrastearate, propylene glycol and water and rhubarb extract, propylene glycol and safflower extract, purified water, sodium citrate, sodium laureth sulfate, sweet almond oil.

I think you need to bleach and redye. What about the Mac method and it's track record with regular users with little clean time makes you think it would work for you?

First bleach and redye my head felt like a giant sunburn. My scalp felt like it was on fire, I was pretty worried and had trouble leaving in the dye for over 15 minutes. I washed out the bleach with tide liquid detergent and my hair got so tangled I could barely comb it, this was before I attempted to dye it. I have been using the psoriasis shampoo due to it's 3% salicylic acid content in the meanwhile and have been tossing in vinegar and tide here and there; this has taken place the entire past two weeks. So tomorrow, will have been a full week of macujo, two bleach and redye (my hair was like straw and I could see straight through to my scalp after the last bleach, this time I imagine it will be even more dramatic) over the course of a week, and 4 weeks on the wagon. What will my chances be if I take the test tomorrow? | |

I can't give you odds of passing the test, but I will tell you this: Your odds of passing are a damn site better now, than when you first posted. I am hoping for the best for you.

Update: Test is tomorrow at noon. So far: * 4 weeks clean * Macujo almost every day last week, followed by bleach, washed out with tide, then redye, rinsed, and heavy conditioner * Macujo once more * This weekend: Bleached again, left bleach in for an entire hour, washed out with Zydot stage 1. Redye (left in for a half hour), added stage 2 and stage 1 again Zydot, followed stage 3. * Macujo'd again * Washed hair every morning first with swimmer's shampoo, followed by Psoriasis shampoo (3 % salicylic acid and numerous other weird chemicals), followed by heavy conditioner * Redyed hair again as the color didn't seem to stick; this time left in dye 45 minutes, before redying I washed again with swimmers shampoo. * Continued washing every morning with swimmers first, then with psoriasis. * Blow-dried hair to expose to high heat Tonight: Macujo, then swimmers, then psoriasis again, then conditioner again. Tomorrow: Swimmers and psoriasis, then haircut to 1 1/2 to 2 inches, then come home and Macujo, then Zydot, blowdry, then head to Quest office. I'm seriously bugging out. Although smoking daily or almost every day, more like 3-4 days a week, a couple hits each time - an eighth typically lasts me about 3 months of usage on current rate as I only do a little bit at a time, not like back in the day where I burned through an eighth a week easy. I have been totally straight for about 3 1/2 weeks, the week before that didn't smoke hardly at all because I was sick. I guess after I take the test I'll have to wait on pins and needles and just hope for the best. My scalp constantly itches right now, I have small scabs over the back of my head, and my hair looks like it's fried to a crisp. I literally cannot comb my hair at all if I do not use conditioner right now, the hair instantly tangles the moment I get out of the shower. I have been occasionally tossing in Tide along with the double shampoo morning routine for luck. I don't know if my scalp can take anymore punishment at this point.
