I am a 26 year old female with long, past the shoulder on the finer side brown hair. I have been smoking daily for about the last 8 years. I quit two weeks ago when I found out that I got a job offer for a company. I have read almost every post on these discussion boards and have a few questions. I start work this coming up monday which will give me 15 full days without smoking. I am to start on monday, and I have one small advantage my boss will be my husband who is suppose to take me to get a hair follicle test done soon for the corporate office that is 8 hours away. We planned on delaying this test as much as possible until they are absolutely persistent that I go. There are already plans of me flying to the corporate office 2-3 weeks after I start working for some additional training. So even if I delay it, I do not want to fly to the corporate office and have them surprise me with the test since I haven't taken it, if I get away with it that long. I plan on doing the method that you have outlined and other additional things as well. My question is, If I start doing something now even though I don't know when I am going in to take the test yet, will it be beneficial? I mean. I read that THC stops getting deposited into your blood after about a week of quitting smoking, and THC is carried to your hair by the blood correct? SO, if i start working now to rid my hair of THC will it stay gone out of my hair for good? Or should I just do these methods 4 or 5 days before I want to take the test? Once I damage my hair and remove the toxins, will they stay out now and nothing get redeposited to worry about in the future ? It will be 15 days clean on monday 5/12/08 and do not plan on smoking again. If I am not being clear please let me know. Any advice or information you may have pertaining to this is greatly appreciated. I am trying to do everything that i can to make sure I pass, because if I fail that will make my husband look really bad and he will get tested and have to worry too. He is in the highest paid position in the branch and Im afraid of creating a chain effect with the hair testing and I could be out of a job and so could my husband which will be detrimental to our family. Please Help! Greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I was told that the corporate office is saying that they are testing back a year? is that possible? I know every .5 of hair is 30 days worth of testing, but as I said I am female and have long hair so they can take as much as they want if needed. Will this make a difference in any way? if so, will all this toxin removal and cleansing be effective the same? Very stressed....

| This is highly unethical (and illegal in most states), but you have a very unique situation that applies to almost no one else. Can your husband take another person who doesn't use pot in who looks similar to you enough to use your ID and take the test in your place? BTW, no, the tests do not go back a year. 3 months of hair growth (give or take a week or two) is all the labs will use. The remainder of the hair is discarded. Here is a recent post in the results thread. I thought it might help if the suggestion above isn't possible. Quote:

I wish there was someone but we are originally from Michigan and moved to the panhandle in Florida and dont really know anyone. Thanks for the info. I thought that the corporate office was just trying to use a scare tactic to deter people from using by saying they are going back one year.

Well, I took my test on Tuesday, but somehow there was a mixup and they only Piss tested me! I was prepared for that too. Go figure!
