| If you haven't read Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, you should definetely give it a try. His concepts on the future and pre-programming of life is just mind-blowing. Yet, not too far fetched if we aren't careful. (Read about human cloning lately?) There's another Huxley work I'd like to point out, but I can't remember the name. I can remember some of the plot though. It's a short story about a time-travelling business that takes a guy back a few million to kill a tyrannosaurus rex. The trip goes awry, and the ending should leave you thinking "Wow." I'll grab the name of it from my friend tomorrow and post. | |

| Brave New World Revisited was written by Huxley about 20 years or so after Brave New World, it isn't a story but an essay on the Brave New World situation becoming a reality, how and why. It's long and wordy (he evens warns of it at the beginning, justifying it too). But just so everyone knows this is the same guy who wrote The Doors of Perception, again an essay not a novel on the mind-altering affect of drugs, the issue and the reality, it involves other drugs that I can't mention here, but nothing super-heavy. It was also what the band The Doors named themselves after, he followed up on this too with another essay Heaven and Hell. (When I say essay they are like 100-200 pages) The guy was clearly a genius and I'll let his works speak for themselves if you choose to read them. Anyways, FadeOut you should read Brave New World Revisited, and so should everyone that reads Brave New World. It's scary.

| Thanks for reminding me about Revisited. I had meant to read that a while back but never got around to it. I'll grab Doors of Perception, also. Oh, and that short story I mentioned turned out to be authored by Asimov, not Huxley. Oops. ![]() | |
