| Got reminded of this by a post over on the movie section... If you haven't seen Fight Club the movie, you really should. If you haven't read Fight Club the book, it's an absolute necessity. I did both and believe the book to be incredibly better than the movie. If you haven't done either, I recommend skipping the movie and reading the book. Looking back I wish I would have done that now because the book was that good. The not-quite-sequel to Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk is also an incredible read. It is so vivid and flowing. I would recommend it to anyone who's looking for something different. | |

| Anyone a fan? He's the guy who wrote "Fight Club", which is a better book than it is a movie... don't get me wrong, I love the movie still tho! He's written a bunch of books... Survivor, Choke, Lullaby, Diary, Invisible Monsters to name a few... and has a new one out now, Haunted. If you liked Fight Club you would like any of his other books - they're all just as weird and twisted. A lot of them have crazy twists like Fight Club, and they all have very unique characters. Read him!

| There's already a Chuck Palahniuk topic: http://420.marijuana.com/showthread....huck+palahniuk ...with no replies. It's a sin, because he's such an awesome writer. I've read Fight Club, Choke, and Haunted. I liked Haunted, although I liked it the least (although "Guts" remains to be one of my favorite short stories ever). Choke and Fight Club had some similarities (although "Choke" was more about sex and love, not materialism), and both left me stunned. Palahniuk is a brilliant social satirist. ![]() I think a lot of people here would like him, it's insightful but very simple reading. The style is called "minimalist", and it's a mimickry of a person verbally telling another person a story, a la around a camp fire or during a long train ride. Which books have you read, Res? (if the mods close this topic, let's move the discussion over to the old thread)

I also believe that future historians will look at this epoch and recognize it as another instance of the 'madness of crowds.'" ~Dr. Lester Grinspoon |

| Fight Club the movie and the book were both awesome, and I personally prefer the book's ending. Funny thing is, I read that Palahniuk himself likes the movie's ending better than his own. |

| why the hell would I want to resurrect a topic from 2001 that NOBODY replied to? Close the other topic, not this one! ![]() And to answer your question, I've read Fight Club, Invisible Monsters, Choke, Survivor, Lullaby and Diary. I've never heard of Guts tho... I must look into that. |

| I too prefer the book's ending... But close THIS topic, not the one I made! Look at the date! It was made in 2001, why would we resurrect this topic? The topic starter probably doesn't visit the forums anymore! ![]() |

| ... I can live with merged. Guts sure is a twisted story, I recommend you people read it! But don't eat anything during or right before hand. |

| I haven't seen or read Fight Club. However, I've read Dairy and Choke. Both great books, i like Choke's ending. |
