How can anyone read a book and be high at the same time. I've tried reading a book or doing homework when I'm high and I just end up forgetting what I was doing three minutes ago.

I have the same problem....that's why I have to do my homework before I toke, otherwise just not do it. It kinda depends of the person and the high they are having, so some ppl might be able to while others [us] cant.

i can read while high...

but i prefer stickin to magazines and other light readin material (internet junk)

often i choose not to read cuz there are much more entertaining things i can do

I used to have problems reading while high, but I smoke a lot so I got through it. I think a lot of it depends on what you're reading.

For example, there's a book called "Visions of Cody" by Jack Kerouac. The best way to describe it is it's like free jazz but in prose form. It's like if you're reading a book, and then stop paying attention, you know, your mind wanders, and then suddenly you start paying attention again and you're like, "whoa, what's this? Where'd that guy come from?" and then you have to skip back a page or 2 to catch up. It's like that, only you didn't miss anything. You needed to be high for that one to make sense.

bailey, that did make sense ... and I am high! lol But I know exactly what you mean bout reading, I can read when im high and do school (I'm homeschooled) but I work in my room so I usually wanna go on the computer when im high so I try not to smoke before I do school/read.

I read all the time, mostly at night, and I smoke mostly at night. I usually read novels - Dean Koontz, and i've been reading this cool Terence McKenna book: The Archaic Revival, most of it doesn't make sense when i'm high (except for a few things I ran into that seemed to make sense). I can't read at all when i'm high, my eyes can't focus on the tiny words in the novel for a long period of time.

I read almost too much. In the past 8 months I've pounded through 20,000 pages of text. Mostly non-fiction, history, defence and public policy stuff. I finished a interesting book on terrorism last week 'Inside Terrorism' by Bruce Hoffman before that I read 'The fifty year war' By Norman Friedman.....Years ago I trained my self to read while stonned. Like most things it just takes a little practice.

I usually blaze at night as well. That is the time I usually read as well. I can read a novel, but after 5 minutes I want to do something else. I tried reading Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. tolkien while stoned since it is very visual and colorful. It didn't work, honestly, I find it hard to read novels while on herb. I wish it could be done but it can't.

I have tried reading while high a few times. I just cant do it. I either get tired or lose concentration and decide to go do other things. I constantly have to keep skipping back to read things that I missed. Im going to have to train myself to read stoned if I ever plan on doing it.

It all depends on my setting and mood, at times I love reading high, other times I need to be sober in order to read.

A good philosophy book, some good bud, and a great view outside, now that is prime reading while high setting.
