Iam surprised that no one hasnt mentioned this book yet. Its a sci fi cult classic that has drugs, sex, violence, religion, advanced technology and sandworms
And,wondering if their are any good books out their that are a cross between d&d fantasy and sci fi?

Dune was cool.... I want to ride a sandworm!!! Hey, it'd be kinda cool to live on Arrakis anyway... even though it's a desert, melange spice is perfectly legal

I thought I already replied to this thread, guess not. One of my favorite sci fi books, I think the only book I've ever read with wider scope was the Lord of the Rings. Brilliant storytelling, Dune is a must read.

Hey bailey, have you seen the trailer for the fellowship of the ring? I saw it this past weekend when I saw Rush hour2. The lord of the rings trilogy is gonna rock!

I've seen it online, not in the theaters. I'm a big fan, not as big as I used to be, so I'm a little leary, but I think this has the chance to be the best movie they could make out of it. No matter what they do they'll be critisized for it. The only big question is, will the Balrog have wings or not? lol, but that's offtopic, resume discussions of Dune.

I read Dune a few years ago and loved it. I'm a fan of the Lynch movie so I figured since everyone told me the movie doesn't even scratch the surface of the book (which is a true modern Epic) I'd give it a shot. Was glad I did. There are few stories so complex. Outside of Shi Nai'an's Outlaws of the Marsh series or the Tolkien Middle Earth chronicles, nothing compares the epic of Dune. I still haven't gotten around to the continuing stories.

Man of Two Worlds? I looked in my copy of Dune, in the other books written by the author section, and this was the only one listed that he wrote with his son.
