Default Just Read an Awesome Book!

I just finished reading an awesome book, it's one of those ones that you end up reading in two days because it's just that good

It's a nonfiction book by Jon Krakauer called Into the Wild. I recommend everyone read this book, it's a little bit of a downer but I don't know, for some reason I feel like I relate to this book.

Is that the one about the Everst Expedition where a bunch of people died? I read that for my last year in my English class. I thought I would hate it when I first started it, but it ended up being very good. Plus theres a tiny bit of mj references.

Close, this is about a 22 year old man who decided that he didn't want to live in society (I think a lot of young people think about this) and decided to live life to it's fullest.

For two years he hitchhiked all over the place, from Virginia to all over the midwest, Mexico, and finally Alaska. His goal was to live in the wilderness for a while, sort of a spiritual journey.

Anyways, I can't explain it well, but it's an awesome book!

It's written by the same guy, but it was called Into Thin Air. It took a bowl to jog my memory. Into the Wild sounds real intersting. I might have to check it out. I probably won't cause I'm lazy.

LOL man you got to though, it's one of those books that you keep thinking of.

Right now I just loaded up on some old books from my grandparents house - two by Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, an old book called 'Philosophy of Religion', a book on '12 reasons god exists' by St. Augustine, some Jack London books, and a few more philosophy books.

Everyone should read on philosophy. I used to think reading about philosophy was stupid, because who wants to live by someone's philosophy? But it makes you think quite a bit, and puts things into perspective.

Exactly dude! You don't have to buy into everything a philosopher says, even you agree with one of his views. I often like to read ones that I disagree with because I have to figure out why I disagree with it. It gets your brain going.

I think he was found dead in a shack in the Alaskan wilderness, he forgot, or didn't know how deadly winter can be.

Yeah it was an old bus that people used a long time ago to camp out in. And it is a theory that he the seeds made him so weak that he couldn't get food.

Even though the end was depressing, at least that guy had the best two years ever. The things he did and saw are things most people will never even dream of, so although he died young, he had a life equivalent of someone two times his age. Quality, not quantity
