It was about 4.00am a week or two ago and I found myself watching PBS. It was a show where a guy (something Moyers... Bill Moyers maybe) was interviewing Joseph Campbell. They were talking about myths, religion, finding your 'bliss', and other things like that.

Anyways, it was so good I went out and got the book, which is basically a transcript.

Everyone should run out and get it, that Campbell sounds is definetly on my list of 'Dead People I Wish I Could Have Talked To'.

He tells some awesome stories, and basically the idea is that we should all find one thing in life that we love (our 'bliss' as he puts it) and that it isn't the end of the journey of life that matters, but the journey itself.

I'm not really doing this book any justice, but I just gotta recommend you guys get it, makes you think a lot and is just a good read.

Joseph Campbell was an absolute genius. a comparative religion and mythologist Papa and I have studied his work for years (papa for decades, introduced me to the man's work 5 years ago)

Many of his lectures are on video and are available through PBS and Educational Video companies.

His work is "must reading/viewing" and the joy he exudes in his work is papable.

Follow your bliss is how Papa and I sign most of our autographs on our musical work -- as it was our musical endeavors that forced us to re-evaluate our lives and concentrate on doing just that. It is an important lesson.

I am so pleased you are finding Campbells work enlightening...as you read more...and think more about what you learn...it gets better and better and better. You will probably find Man & his Myths to be a fascinating read...and it slips my mind but there is another series about "masks" that I'll try to remeber and give you the titel for. But keep reading. You are in for a mind expanding treat.
