anyone who likes philosophy should check out das energi. It's different from any book i've read. I'm not saying the guy is always right, but he does make you think, and it's published by elektra records (yup the Doors record label) it's the only book they have ever published. check it out. I can't really condense what it's about, but it's kinda about enlightenment and realization and how alot of things are full of bull****. but keep in mind it's all from one man's perspective, but i will say he puts his perspective forward in an innovative way.

In this "strange little book" that grew out of the author's experiences living in an experimental commune during the early '70s, "capital" has replaced "land" as the key to human economy. Now is the time for human energy to replace both capital and land as the essential human possession, with which all other things can be achieved. ~Amazon.com~

Like i said this book is very very hard to summerize. He talks alot about enlightenment and energy and parts of the book may seem kind of new agey, but the general gists of the book are intellectual i think and make sense. He talks about many many things, religion, interpersonal relationships, human beings in general, technology. For instance in one passage he talks about how our technology needs to catch up with our enlightenment. He describes how certain technologies can be bad but technology itself isn't. Like a chainsaw consumes fossil fuels and pollutes. We know this is bad but we use it instead of an axe because it is easier in the short term, but the long term effects of using bad tech will cause ruination. Its way way too hard to summerize, just read it dammit! He also uses alot of quotes from songs. I noticed quite a few Dylan quotes.

just got the book in and have made my way through about half of it. i see why you find it hard to summarize. many of the concepts seem really interesting and thought provoking, but others are a bit too new agey for me. i would certainly recommend it as a good read to anyone interested in these type of topics (mainly philosophical in nature). ![]() ![]() ![]()
