| No you aren't. I couldn't actually finish it - and I read the Gulag Archipelago in a bad translation in one sitting. ![]()

| GOOD, but the second book you mentioned....I haven't actually heard of that one. Was that, by chance, the sequel to "The Celestine Prophecy?" I thought I remember one being mentioned somewhere. |

| No. The Gulag Archipelago was written by [curses! now I have to spell it] Alexandr Solzhenitzen [I know, I know - so correct me, ok?] a Soviet dissident who wrote some interesting books and was a winner of the nobel prize [for literature, I think]. In a good translation it's an awesome [and deeply depressing] book, but definitely not a good choice for reading stoned. |

| Wow for pot smokers the three of you are certainly closed minded. I never expected to see such a negative reaction to this book when i searched. Wakdbuds maybe you should open the book up and see whats inside before you totally discredit it as crap, or are you normally this opionated about things you know nothing about? Something tells me though even if you read it 50 times the insights will pass right over you, thats just the way knowledge is when you dont have the power to make heads or tales of it, its useless. I admit the story is complete crap, its got too many holes and its all too convenient the way he stumbles from one part of the "lost manuscript" to the next. Still the messages within it are good ones to adhere to and i can tell you first hand that if you give it a chance and are willing to expirement with a new way of life than you will begin to see the energy they speak of. I guess im a bit partial because this book has classified an experience i have had since i was 13 with seeing a grey hue off of people when they move. I now know thats their energy that im seeing and i also am learning how to manipulate that energy with my mind. This book is definitely not for everyone, a lot of people are too plugged in and too absorbed in the American ideal that the only things of worth are objects and that everything that is real can be proved by the scientific method. This thinking is wrong and cancels out one of the greatest reasons to be alive, because this world is full of mystery and wonder and stuff we just cant explain. At one time you all saw the world with eyes of mystery and wonder and if you can just alter your perception a bit to try and feel that again you just might have a greater understanding of what this book is trying to teach. Still to discredit it or any other book as simply new age crap is to miss completely the entire message they are trying to get out and if you are missing the message but other people are getting it than maybe the flaw lies within you and not the author? Just my new age hippy crap thoughts, take em or flush em. ![]() |

| Yeah like i said its not for everyone especially those ill equipped in the head, it takes a sound mind to have a generous spirit and a kind look on the world, maybe some day you will find this for yourself but i doubt it. Kudos on the immaturity you have shown in your one word response though. ![]() *edit* Aww shucks, looks like you were a return troll. Better luck next time. *flushs Zodiac* ![]() |

| hmm its strange for someone to jump in two years after i post something and bag me for it... no i havent read this book but ive read parts of it. it just couldnt maintain my interest. and i read alot of reviews of the book. so im not just making blind statements. the problem i have with new age crap is they take something very real and important to life and make it cheap and mass produced. i see this style of book as debasing the human spirit, perhaps my views are extreme but they are my views so take em or leave em. if you knew me at all youd know i have zero interest in material things or society in general, and alot of respect and reverance for spiritual ideas. but im a champagner spiritually speaking, and this book is a mile off being sublime... i post a timely reminder that karma comes back to you (you know who you are LOL)

![]() Well i didnt really look for this until i read the book. It appears i have mistaken your words, you seem to be a pretty sound minded fella. My appologies for that. You do have to admit though that your original comment in this thread was not written with the same amount of tact and wisdom you are exhibiting now. In fact it sounds pretty juvenile when i read it, like one of those people who is unable to be reasoned with because they absolutely refuse to believe in anything, im sure you know the type. Sorry for the mix up, you dont strike me that way with your second comment. Sorry for the scolding ![]() | |
